You can check out LTT for PC builds that outdo the PS5 on the same budget. It's not really a debate, one of the most important things for computer performance is cooling, PCs are bigger and therefore have better cooling so their components are designed to draw out more power for better performance, and games have settings for you to tweak it to match the performance and look you prefer, or even mod it to go beyond the OG game's requirements. $700 is a great starter build, and the 2nd hand market for PC is huge which makes its potential very high. Only question IMO is if you're okay with the non-portability of a PC or have more use for it than just gaming. I've always liked the PS gaming experience and catalogue and believe the games are more important than the device, but they're all cross-platform now and there are options for everyone. The console wars have been meaningless for like 10yrs. The meme makes me think of the marketing.

Bruh the PS5 Pro has AI technology from AMD that they haven’t even put into any of their own products yet. Besides that the gpu alone is equivalent to a AMD 7800XT. Good luck building a pc that beats it for that price. Even the blue ray drive has insane value, the resale prices are fked but if you were able to get one for what they were supposed to be sold for or even a little more let’s say 120$, that still is a insane deal, I have a ps5 pro and the top of the line Sony blue ray player, yes there is a difference. But I’m also comparing a dedicated 300+€ 4K+, HDR 10, Hybrid Log Gamma, 3D, etc. with a system that’s main objective is to play games. I’ve tested them both with the most taxing media I have on hand, which was Oppenheimer in 4K HDR, having to read 120MB/s for video alone and another 30+MB/s for audio. To be completely honest. Without my Sony oled (yeah I know looks like I’m glazing but my family, plus my own experience with Sony products have been nothing but flawless) I’m not sure if I would have noticed the difference more or less, since the tv on its own (A90L) has such a insanely good color representation, the devices also all sync with each other since they are all Sony. I had the same video settings for both. Ofc the dedicated player wins. But for 120$, you cannot beat that.
