how did you get this footage? any chance you have 1989 1990 race footage? Victoria Park correct? my uncles bought the chassis of the winner of one of those years i dont recall , but it was a PCR & a Swiss hutless. that started my karting as a kid
1980s bridgestone tyres incredible grip right down to the canvas however new tyres maximum grip very little sliding ( you could push gangbusters made up a lot of ground " hand over fist " by choosing shorter " angles " on corners to cover less ground than the guy in front
I was racing back in 1985… Karts were so much lighter…. No starter, clutch, radiator, plastics…. electronics etc…. Bridgestone’s YBQ compound allowed unbelievable cornering grip…. “It was pure racing….”
The good old days!!! Some great names there. All we needed was Mike Wilson in there too. And what about Fullerton at the end on the podium, ciggy in his mouth, blowing smoke over everyone😄
top drive !
great Material Lars, cheers from Uruguay, we are a 80s and 90s karting channel

LARS!!! ... running flat out for every lap, in a VERY long sprint kart race, that's real endurance to dive like that!!

Karting was better when the tires lasted an entire season. Screwing with changing tires isn't any fun.
