Up here in the Salish Sea the beaches are almost all rock and gravel, so this isn't very relevant to launch/retrievals here - but when I do have to go up on the beach it takes me a long, awkward time to clean the pea-gravel out the intake so my impeller and wear ring doesn't suffer when I'm ready to go again- I'm very jealous of how you can run that thing up on the sand. I could probably do this on the Washington coast, though...

Nice Video. Im my opinion the best way is the put down the taligate on truck or pop the hatch on the SUV and do it old fashioned way turning and looking backwards. Once the trailer is straight and lined up with the vehicle, look back and put your right arm behind the headrest of he passenger seat, GRAB THE STEERING WHEEL AT THE BOTTON IN THE 6 OCLOCK POSITION. That is the key. Then as your backing up turn the steering wheel the way you want the trailer to go. Once you get that down you'll know how to do it forever. The key is looking backward and grab the wheel at 6 o'clock on the bottom. Funny thing is because I learned it this way, I absolutely cannot do it looking at backup cam or the side mirrors. And the popping the hatch or lowing tailgate is especially important when backing an empty trailer as you'll actually be able to see it.

I have been struggling with my Jet Ski trailer all season - the put your hands on the bottom of the wheel was not working well for me - your point at the wing mirror and say NO as you turn the wheel in that direction to correct was simply BRILLIANT. Thank you - SUBbed! and LIKED I was relying too much on the camera and that was NOT working......Ash is a rockstar.

My son and I fell off our jetski while headed upstream on the Missouri river. I had my kill switch tethered to me but the jet ski still went a good 25 yards or more before it stopped. This was a pretty windy day so even though my Killswitch worked my son and I couldn't get back to the jet ski no matter how hard we swam because the wind was pushing the jet ski upstream while the current was taking us down stream and the jet ski just kept getting farther away. We had to flag down a boat to take us back to the ski!

I have an FX/HO.. and I like the 'army tank' feel of it... plows through anything, but I may go for the Sea Doo soon, as I like the easy rider pose a bit more these days. (big waves Yamaha.. smooth water.. Sea Doo)

I rode one for the first time with my 15 year old daughter (pillion) yesterday in Northern Spain. We had a basic Intro, and went out of the harbour! At first it was fun, then after half an hour I had had enough! The Instructor disappeared in front of us and we were banging and crashing though waves. The spray was in my eyes and I found it difficult to see. I thought the craft was stable enough, and it seemed to keep in a staight line, and was very powerful. Eventually the Instructor turned around and asked if we were ok. I said I wanted to go back! He was ok with that! Everything happended so fast, I suppose having had no prior experience, I found it all a bit to manic for me. Even my daughter said I'd made the right decision. Will I do it again! Yes!...but in a calmer environment that will allow me to take in the coastline sights and enjoy the experience, not just hanging on for grim death. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. xx

Awesome tutorial for beginners! I would suggest to beginners that you should go ONLY as fast as you might hit something! They're not toys! It takes hours of riding them to be at a level where you don't panic and lose steerage by letting off the throttle or gunning it full throttle during an "oh shit" moment.

What jet ski is being used in the video?

You really should point out what type of trailer you have that works for your style of launching. If you have rollers, then your style works if your trailer has wooden bunks, this procedure will not work, if your trailer has bunks you have to submerge the trailer deeper almost to the point where the ski floats off if you don’t the ski will not come off the trailer, be able to blast it back onto the trailer if the bunks aren’t under the water please point that out so people don’t think they can use the technique you show on a trailer that doesn’t have rollers.

Hey bud, I bought a 1.75 lbs fluke style PWC anchor it is very, very similar to yours. What weight is the jet tech anchor you are describing because my 1.75lb anchor seems to be too lite to grab into the sand/ muck bottoms here in my area. Thank you!
