thanks for the drive by tour.....when I visit for vacation or attended SEMA, I only used transit bus because of the speeders and rude drivers (they are ALL OVER).....so I would concentrate on either the STRIP or Fremont mall area....

It looks easy enough, but living in the desert requires a toughness many will never know. But there's certainly a way to find out.

What a Dump

It used to be so much nicer before all the people arrived. When I lived in Las Vegas, as a young person, we would go out there and only a handful of people lived out that way and few people came out to hike. Summerlin didn't exist. Just a few horse ranches after Jones Bl. Things have changed and not for the better, over the past 50-60 years

VegasDon 711 here. Nevada state law says political signs must be removed from private property within 660 ft or 201 m of a state road no later than 30 days after an election. Canidates losing in a primary have 15 days to remove political signs. In Vegas and the City of North Las Vegas political signs must be removed 15 days after an election. If the signs are not removed the political party or candidate will receive a written notice. If the signs are not removed after the notice, the cities will remove the signs and charge the political party or candidate for the removal expense. In Henderson there are no politcal sign regulations and the city will remove the signs after 30 days.

I was a crap dealer at the Cortez in the early 80’s the nastiest locals & cab drivers betting quarters ( 25 cents) each and everyday . First shift I worked a received $6 in tips for 8 hours. Good Times .

Hello Don, One of my dad's other friends used to own a restaurant right next to Planet Fitness on Sahara and Maryland Parkway from 1997-2001. His restaurant does not have business either, so it did last long.

Hello Don, My brother lives in New York City; every intersection in New York City is a No Turn On Red. All the streets are one way streets, and parallel parking is very common too. In Vegas, these things are not all that common.

I stayed at Sam's Town a year ago. It has a bowling alley below the main floor and a cinema on the main floor. It seemed to be a mostly locals only place. For the most part it was fairly decent place to stay.

If i am traveling off the strip i will rent a car. some times i stay in a condo for a week and its nice to have a car to go grocery shopping. but if i stay on the strip for few days don't need car.

711 here. Where I live there is a law that states all political signs on public property must be removed 10 days after an election. If it is a primary all political signs for candidates that lost must be removed 10 days after the primary. The winning canidate can leave their sign up until the general election and it has to be removed 10 days after the general election. Is there such a law in Nevada?

11:50 Every one of those bike riders could be pulled over and ticketed right there. Not just for the lack of tags. But also for lane splitting, Lane splitting is illegal in Nevada. In fact, lane splitting is illegal in 49 states. It's only legal in California. But I have never seen any biker pulled over for it.

As soon as you land at the airport. Rent a nice car. Maybe a convertible. Just tip the valets at the different hotels you visit. It's the best way to get around. Walking...don't do it. Take a bus, if you have no other choice. If you get drunk. Take a cab. Pick your car up the next day.

Hello Don, Allegiant Stadium is considered small compared to stadiums in other places. For example, Gillette Stadium where the New England Patriots play can seat 100,000 patrons, while Allegiant Stadium seats 65,000 patrons. Plus, the parking lot at Gillette Stadium from one end to the other is one mile long, while the parking lot at Allegiant Stadium nowhere near that size.

Hello Don, Palace Station, you were referring to was the original casino of all the Station Casinos. It has been open since 1976. It first opened as The Casino, one year later they renamed it Bingo Palace, and finally in 1984 it became Palace Station.

I think Las Vegas has a very good road system, wide roads, lots of advance phases, good freeway access. Seems to be keeping up with the growth.
