My son is helping shoot some footage. I prefer to bring pogies/menhaden offshore for red snapper. Everybody always goes to the bait boat and every single red snapper knows what a cigar minnow or herring or speedo looks like. When you drop a pogy down, it's an instantaneous bite! Their like gum drops, their soft as well, so one or two bites and that's fish on folks! Pogies start dying quite fast when you bring them from low salinity waters to high salinity waters, so I typically run to the best spot first and send down the lively ones. As they start dying, they make superb chum. I typically cut or pinch in half and toss a few chunks at a time. A lot of times, you can catch the bigger snapper off the chum line. Keep your eyes peeled and also a flatline out back and you can catch any other species such as cobia, kings, mahi, tuna, or anything eating the chum. IYKYK
