    How does the author know what to write for each moment/scene/chapter, if they don't know the end of the story? Is the author pulling from something in the story to tell them where to take it? I won't know much about my story idea, just something vague like your sample magical kid concept, so it's hard to know where the story should go since I don't know what it's about. I'm not sure what kinds of goals or complications or things to put in each scene. Any advice? Maybe I'm just missing understanding something simple that most story tellers know and use to tell their stories! Also, since the author isn't drawing the frames at the script writing phase, is the author imagining what each frame should be as they're writing the scene/moments? I'm interested to learn how the script transforms into the frames and layout. Great video!

      @IkaHime 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@danielburns1556 the story is something you have to think about, whether it is character driven or plot driven will change its execution. More character driven stories will have more focus on the characters struggles within the plot, and plot driven will be more focused on the characters dealing directly with the plot. You need to think about what kind of story you want to tell as well as what struggles you want your characters to endure. You really need to think about it. Thoughts and ideas need to be fleshed out in more detail because you need to at least have a loose direction to work with for your plot to prevent you from getting burnt out and stuck, or creating too many holes or contradictions. Think of your story like a movie. Maybe watch a couple movies within your chosen genre or read some comics/novels within your chosen genre to help you understand pacing and progression of story lines and character development. It's mostly just experience and writing down ideas and working through what works and what doesn't.

    it looks like your chapters are scenes? am I right?

    • @IkaHime
      @IkaHime หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pdworld3421 no, scenes and chapters are different things, and one chapter can have (and typically does have) multiple scenes. Scenes describe the setting and context of a particular event, where chapters encompass the combination of scenes relevant to the segment of story you want to break up, which can end with a perspective change, a cliffhanger, or a resolution to whatever the characters are facing. Think of your chapters like you would think of TV show episodes. One segment of the story may get told with multiple places, buildings, environments, and characters, but all belong in the same chapter.

    I didn't know Comic book scripts had chapters. How many?

    • @IkaHime
      @IkaHime 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your script chapters directly correlate to your physical comic chapters, and you write as many chapters as it takes to tell the story.

    I think this outline is absolutely necessary to structure the story. Then I would go over the outline and write the script. I may design the script in a more visual format so I can see how big to make each pane, what should go in each pane and thought bubbles (all in text). Then I will file up the art program and start painting.

    I love this. As I’ve grown as a creative I’ve had to think a lot about my various interests. It was overwhelming to have so many interests that I didn’t stick to anything to really improve. I realized the question I needed to ask myself was: do I really want to do this, or do I just like the idea of me doing it? For example, do I actually want to play guitar or do I just like the idea of being someone who is really good at guitar? Since I didn’t really like playing that much I never did it enough to be as good as I wanted to be. But with drawing I do it even without a goal. And that’s how I knew which interests were really important to me Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Keep up the great work!

    • @IkaHime
      @IkaHime ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! And you shouldn't focus on meeting the quota as much as getting enough in to say what you want to say in a chapter. Chapters typically range from 14-45 pages, give or take, and each page can have any number of panels. It's not recommended to exceed 8 panels per page as the pages can start looking cluttered after that point, but those are all personal preferences you can bend around for the desired look.
