A genre in Indian Literature, a Champu is a work of prose and poetry. In the Odiya genre, a separate song is written for each alphabetical letter and in that song, every stanza begins with that particular letter. The play of the alphabet adds a lyrical charm
and rhythm to the song.
The Champu series used in Odissi dance was composed by Kavi Surya Baladev Rath.

Leela Nidhi is part of this series and is represents the law Champu.
In this piece, the yuvati, perhaps Radha begs Krishna to return her clothes, as she melts in shame. At the same time she begs him to watch her, adorn herself. As she draws her brows looking at the mirror she desires him to write his name lost within the decorations of the tilak on her forehead.
