I decided to move to Australia from the United States on a working holiday visa. I spent a few weeks traveling in Melbourne and Tasmania and then settled down in Tasmania. This is my story!

Congrats for the video
this is soooo nice video. thanks lindsy. well i'm going to go to tas in soon. i hope you keep make videos! have a nice dayyyyy
when do you share your instagram? so many people interested
sounds like you're only going to pubs/bistros & cheaper style restaurants. unless all of Tassie is like that, then that's just weird.
@@kirstonemmm1423 definitely I eat on the more casual side but I eat similar at home so it’s interesting to see the difference in casual dining here too
@@lindsyrawlinson2292 that's fair. first time i was in the US, we were chased by diner staff bc we forgot to leave a tip!
Tea is dinner at night, the evening meal.
If you're a leftist, get out, if not, all the best.
I try to stay out of politics here because it’s not my country, I mostly just work and go on hikes
leftists dont exist, they are a fever dream of the anxious
Be careful of exploitation
Wow. That makes no sense!
W Australia
Not her actin like vapes are good
That’s nuts
It should be illegal to vape everywhere
Yes it's insane... it's all about taxes...the government don't want people vapeing as taxes on cigarettes are insanely high...just go to any cigarette or vape shop they sell them under the counter cash only
It's medical so we get medical rebates, Australia has way better healthcare then the USA that we can actually afford. What's insane is people pay $50+ for FAKE DISPOSABLES but a medical cart is only $10 😂
Yes and that is the way it should be, like our gun laws
Just cause there’s laws doesn’t mean there abided
It's insane like our gun laws, only those with legit reasons have access.
Guess who is in charge of deciding if your reasons are legit..
@@Doulos.Romans8.34the ones with evidence/training 😂 It's no different to getting a license to drive a car, if you show misuse you wont have access
@@YamahaMt0the government lol.. “prove to me you need a car”?
@@Doulos.Romans8.34 basic skills are looked over by a professional to see if you are eligible, if you got a bad police record you probably won't be eligible. Personally I'm a motorcycle rider and I need my license to get to work and back, my reasoning for getting a car would be for my kids.
Australia said fuck freedom embrace china
Yeah it’s not
Womp womp leave then
Your mother should’ve told you if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything.
@@MichaelBrown-me3bh womp womp
@@MichaelBrown-me3bhare you five
@@Sus_pumpkin no.. but I’m not sure what your point is?
@@MichaelBrown-me3bh this is the internet not the day care people are mean on the internet and there is almost nothing you can do also womp womp
Yeah it’s illegal but you can nearly go to any tobacco shop and they’ll have some for sale “under the counter”
Fuck half the time they're in plain view
@@xavierevans3358 not sure which tobacco shops you’re going to 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
@@MichaelBrown-me3bhnot exactly as it's FAKE, it's like when people got k2 instead of weed
You'd be so cooked 💀

When Oreos become currency.
Full totalitarian state during covid as well. Your government went crazy & restricted so many civil liberties.
Totalitarianism? Highest prison population in the world. Police death squads. The NSA vacuuming up every communication. Presidential felons. The exectutive, the legislsature and the judiciary bought and paid for by the highest bidder. Coporate murders. Commerical prison system. Judges paid to put kids in prison. You might want to look up totalitarianism and facism.
Yeah that was to stop a repeat of the Spanish flu!
Well, it's Vegemite! What are you saying!
It might seem unserious to you, but these are things that are iconically Australian and we are proud of them. It's not for you, it's for us.
I was going to make a post saying that's because Aussies love Vegemite as much as Brits do tea. So to them, it is highly relevant to them.
Well, its not gonna matter very soon whats on physical cash. .. Seems to me there no national identity to your currency if it has vegimite on it....
Is strange how the $2 is smaller than the $1 coin too. Threw me off.
It’s thicker though to make up for it
Hey hey hey pull ya self up love . Don't be talking about Vegemite like that !!!!
So Aussie. ❤
The Wiggles are on coins too, there's a pavlova 1 dollar coin. they are limited releases each year and there is allot
We just put Bluey on our $2 coins too in full colour.
Well, as you said, something with real relevance for the country.😀
Sweetie I fully understand….my wife and had the same reverse situation driving in the US. In fact I had the cheek to tell a group of Americans….”No wonder you guys have so many accidents….you all drive on the wrong side of the road! 😀” Seriously though, you must know some Aussies by now…get them to sit in the car with you…they’ll help you out. Some pre trip study would have helped you as well. I’m 78 and I knew you guys drive on the right….i knew that you still use miles, feet and inches, I knew that the steering wheel was on the left etc. You’re young and you’ll learn quick….so cheer up. 🙂
Haha I knew I would have to drive on the left I just didn’t realize how much of a learning curve it would be…I’ve been doing a lot better with it lately!
We don't drive on the wrong side of the road - it's clearly the correct side. Or to put it another way, left is right. Just think about it.
You can even go diamond fosiking on a beach in Tasmania too..
Tasmania has one of the worlds best hikes.. You can even find gold in their rivers. Amazing place..
Thank you
Darling, it’s called hand brake, because you use your hand to operate it ( as opposed to your foot) . Most Americans call it the E brake ( Emergency brake). If you’re using google maps, what does it matter if it’s Kilometres or Miles? If it tells you turn right in 400m , and you see the distance getting smaller & smaller, you know you’re coming up to the right intersection to turn into, yeah??
You are in paradise and don,t realise it.
Hii! Me and my cousin will be going on a WHV from America as well in August! We’re doing a tour up the east coast when we first arrive so we are soooo worried about not finding work as we’ll definitely need it after our tour. We’re doing the tours and everything with welcome to travel as well. Just wondering if they helped you get in touch with the recruitment agencies or if they were any help at all?
Yes welcome to travel is awesome they send weekly emails with jobs too and have lots of connections mainly in Melbourne and Sydney, I found this job on Facebook but if you are willing to do hard work jobs will be easy
@@lindsyrawlinson2292 awesomeeee. Thank you!
I will think off you next time l buy some 🌽 in Melbourne ..thanks for your hard work on those farms.
thrilled to have our American cousins with us. ENJOY HAVE FUN AND TAKE CARE.. God bless you.
I have done the reverse and driven many times in the US. Just remember the driver is nearest the road centre line
Welcome to Australia! I hope your stay here is safe and peaceful.
What a beautiful addition to under down under!
