Everyone is headed to hell by default according to the Bible (to pay for their sins). But God loves us and doesn’t want that for us, so he came as a man (Jesus) and led a perfect, sinless life, so that he could legally pay for our sins by giving his life for us on the cross (he bought us with his own blood). But to receive this forgiveness, there are things we must do: 1) repent of our sins (be sorry for them, confess them to God, and turn from them) 2) Forgive everyone else for their sins against us (no matter what they are) and ask God to forgive them 3) Believe Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose again 4) Ask Jesus to cleanse us from our sins and save us 5) Love others, especially those in our immediate families 6) Serve and obey God the rest of our lives and continually repent of any new sins. God also wants us to get baptized as a profession of our new faith.
