most councils don't recycle as much as they can empty the green bin once a month I can fill one in a week that's 3 weeks worth to land fill if councils emptied once a week and put glass and paper in the green bin think how much would not go to land fill

Outside the main centres in major cities in Britain, let alone Scotland. Bus services, even if they were free, and for many they already are free, are not an option. People haven't lived like that for nesrly 60 years. Or more. Buses dont go where folk neef to go. There are no factories or large employer's anymore. Town cenres have been trashed first by local authorities and planning. Then by pedestrianisation, then the Web, then Covid. New build housing continue to be built in areas where folk dont want buses anyway and work miles away. Try doing a weekly shop without a car. I cant carry it to the car on a trolley hardly, let alone on a bus which would end up a 3 hour journey otherwise. Walking to our nesrest supermarket takes 25 minutes each way. So if I could carry it it would be quicker than the bus. Cycle? Too hilly and the bags over the handlebars would get caught in the handlebars. Home delivery online? They will deliver stuff you cant see or feel. My mum does it cos shes house bound but it is 3rd best. The way we live today and the way we have been driven, the car is the only solution and forget town centres they are finished.
