I smoke, and carr y two clipper lighters , as the zippo I carr y is inda disapointing and unreliable most of the times
I want special see fish super deep in the water glasses. Also those X-ray specs from the 50/60s out of the back of the comic books.
I watched Blackie’s video today. Praise to God, he really is doing Fantastic, given the situation!
Yeah, it's hard to believe he's already back on camera.
All prayers to Blackie 🙏
Filtering your drinking water is always better than adding chemicals to it
Was decent till he said if your near home drink something nasty. Please never do this. Horrible idea and suggestion. Never add a hazard or possible injury to your survival for a what if.
I said, "If you absolutely have to." If you think you are going to die, do it. At least you'll be able to worry about it later.
If you seriously think you are about to die from dehydration and your only option at the moment is to drink something questionable; would you not drink ? Sick is better than dead.
@Pineboxperspective no I wouldn't I've had Dysentery from that very thing. An that's not the only thing you can get from drinking questionable water. Cholria, Hep A, legionaries disease, an typhold. Are but some you can get. An in a survival scenario it's death.
I bought their 2-pack of solid grills that size... great, well made, grills. Even the non-folding one packs easily. I'm taking your advice on the tent peg set-up. Cool idea.
Thanks. It works really well.
I see you also are a fan of the KISS method. I like it.
Yes sir
Great idea here. Smart, simple and practical. Thanks for posting this video.👍
Thank you!
Good idea on bending the stakes!
I have the flat one... Now I need to find some tent stakes that can be used for dual purpose
smart... simples...
Have you noticed the pin hole in that SAK? I just found out about it during Blackie’s last live stream. Under the Phillips. I have a pin there now!
I didn't realize this one had a hole. I'll have to check. And yes, I've been watching Blackie's canteen cooking videos. He's awesome.
You ever watched Blackie Thomas?
👍👍
👍 Nice little kit with basic essentials in a useable size. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you
dude throws a shirt add half second into the video, pass
When do you think it would be an appropriate time to mention the shirts?
Use a metal foil bags.
Just found your channel. I sub, nice video. thanks for sharing. 👍🏼
Hey, thanks!
Here is the biggest thing that I have learned. A lot of these tools are useless unless you carry them on your person. Here is a lot of the underlying things that I'm seeing. 1 keep enough items with you to get back home weather it be a water filter or it's some extra 550 what ever you need to get home always get it and always carry it with you. 2 setting up your home for defense is a whole lot better of a plan then scavenging. It's a lot safer and better for you to set up some crops and livestock rather then going out to the chaos. It looks like you are in the country or a outskirt of a town. Use that to your advantage. Spend the 100 something dollars and set up the basic needs to grow and maintain crop.
Some hard-earned experiential advice… Water+Food: food bars are 400cal each. I'd want more if I was gonna be doing 25 hours of walking because that's gonna take me 2-3 days if things go right. And we've learned not everyone can stomach the things for days at a time (or even once for some people.) I'd mix MRE entrees with Millennium bars. Weighs more but I'll actually stop to eat when I need to and have more energy when I do. Also, 1000mL = 1L, so if your Aquatabs are rated for that, 32oz is fine. Won't work for metals or arsenic of course, just living crap in your water. The water key is a GREAT idea I hadn't thought of, thanks! Medical: Non-adherent dressing. Like the plastic-covered pad of a bandaid but big. To keep sticky wounds from sticking. A rolled guaze. One. You'd run out in a REAL emergency anyway and need to improvise. One buys you the time to do that. And you're thinking camo will help in your area-camo vet wrap is less conspicuous than white gauze and tape. DON'T compress it. Comes in crinkly plastic with air in it, carefully wrap the plastic in packing tape so it doesn't crinkle and leave it as a little bubble in your med kit. Theoretically reusable if you're careful. Drugstore has pill baggies. Tylenol, ibuprofen, benedryl, immodium, and caffiene pills. LABEL the baggies with the dose in mg. Good use for an altoids tin to keep them from being crushed and it gives you a clean tin for whatever. QuickClot? If you know how and when (or when not) to use it. Triangle bandages. Bigger bit of fabric than a bandana and a couple small safety pins. Don't take much space, cost almost nothing, multiple uses. Some misc: I'd practice with cotton balls, but use tinderquicks for my actual kit. No flammable goop on the fingers and they light easier, worth a few dollars. Your map is laminated. If it wasn't I'd want a plastic bag that'd hold the map folded/re-folded into a shape I could use it in wet conditions if it weren't. If you're following roads you won't need a compass probably. Check your outdoor sporting store for things like thicker ziploc bags and stuff like that. REI, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas's those sorts of places. Throw some nylon zip ties and safety pins in there too. Just a thought to keep some of this stuff dry in your pack. Nothing else to say except maybe practice legs of the trip home. You've got a phone, we all do. Get someone to drop you off and cal when you're close to a pickup spot you decided on ahead of time and just walk the walk and know your route so you get a feel for how long it's really gonna take you and where you'll really have to go. Hope you never need any of this stuff, but if you do, you've got a lot of ground covered in case you need to cover a lot of ground to get home to your family. Maybe some of my rambling will help you do that better?
Keep a smart water bottle with you the sawyer mini fits on it perfectly
Don’t overlook the “edges” of the pouch: easily attach a flashlight or multi tool with a clip
I'm seeing quite a few negative comments and I have to say that having ANY of the items in your kit will significantly improve your chances of survival and having all of them will be the difference as to making it or not. Good video, your failures are as important as your successes. Top job. 🏴
Thank you. Yes, I think that any option is better than none.
Knowledge trumps gear
@@vonsprague7913 having gear is irrelevant if your moral is done ! All if your do not have the skill level and experience carrying in item that someone else carries can do you in
How do you blow a whistle with a punctured lung?
Lol why do you always think there is a gun fight
Instead of a pouch for everyday carry I got a molle belt clip and attach ferro rod/striker, whistle, compass, paracord in cobra weave then keep flashlight, pocket knife, lighter, pencil sharpener, cash in my pockets. For day hikes got a 10lb sling bag with food(1lb nuts), water(+filter), poncho(+tent stakes), hygiene(wipes, hand sanitizer,toothbrush/paste), first aid(+tourniquet), bug spray, bug head net, multi tool, map compass, cordage, insulation(jacket, gloves), AM/FM radio, contractors trash bag modified into a top quilt.
Really cool. If you aren't worried about water, maybe punch a little hole in the bottom of the altoids box to use it as a true signaling mirror.
LOW AUDIO
This is pretty cool, in my opinion the last 2 minutes is the best part. 😎 Lots of options for cutting, incl. razor sharp ‘scalpel’ blades, bandages -to fix the sliced fingers- and various ointments. 🤣 Good thought on getting a shine inside the tin for signaling. Your SAK can punch a hole in the can for sighting as you aim it. You can get water bags now that stand up after filling - squeeze one inside a tin or take alongside. *Kind of glad you left out a pencil and paper. Just essentials. Probably room for a ChemLight (w/o the bandana). I think the sawblade on your SAK may have a good spine for striking the ferrorod. I went ahead and subscribed and will share this around. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! I didn't think about a sight hole. Good idea
New sub here from Tx, really enjoying your videos! Keep it up!
I appreciate it!!
Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for watching!
Wearable shelter,ponchos rule.
Great video
I'm not into survivalism but those grenade pouches make great outdoor first aid kits. Due to their size and attachment system you can strap them to your backpack's chest or waist strap to always have instant access.
Yes, I'm totally going to outfit one for that purpose. Thanks for checking it out.
If you carry a first aid kit, especially in a grenade pouch, someone is already calling you a survivalist. Don't worry about labels. Just take care of you and yours.
@@mrmicro22 Only for stuff like wild camping XD. And only for most common ailments I realistically can get during it. Activated charcoal, iodine and a bandage, antihistamines, anti-inflammatory, etc. Nothing too crazy like a tourniquet of course.
If you figure 8 the paracord across your ring finger, and index finger you can shrink that spool down. It will also help from snagging on things, or getting all tangled and knotted when you try to use it. It's also a quick deploy. Pull one end, it unzips from the inside.
I normally do that but it's out of the way one this tiny pack. I thought about wrapping it around the whole pack since it has the snaps on the backside
As a fellow "talks too much" this was great 🤌 Boiling and tabs should be solid, especially since most backpacking filters can't handle chemical and heavy metal pollution anyways and most people live in urban environments (80-90% of Americans).
Also, most water filters won't take care of viruses. The ones that do are pretty pricey.
Can get single sachets of hand sanitizier. Seen some EU MREs come with them. Also Purell make some, just finding a source that is selling them in smaller quantities.
Thanks!
I watched you a while back and I guess I just didnt sub but Im glad you came back around on the algorithm. I really need to downsize my bag. Cool video.
Thank you very much ! 🙏
Fun stuff. My wife doesn’t carry grenades, but she does do crafts. She came up with a tin sold for craft purposes that is like the Altoids tin but a little bigger. I use one for the kit I carry in the pocket of my lunch bag. Thanks!
Nice! My wife crafts also, for the farmers market. She's not allowed to have grenades anymore. Ha.
Hopefully, this one won't get completely re-created on another channel by a cocky jackass😂. If you know, you know.
The inventor of feather sticks and all things common man...
Seems like the right size for a good fire starting kit with with some tinder and fatwood or maybe a small fishing and snare kit
I agree. Already working working on a belt with that in mind. Like the user name, BTW.
Someone needs to do a 100 mile get home bag
I love to get one of your tee shirts!!
Right on. I'm still waiting on the print shop. I'll give an update soon.
Now, I've never done this nor have I seen it done, but I have heard that you can use an oven bag to boil water in place of a ziplok bag.
My bag is very similar. I would like to say a couple of things......I think foot care is extremely important. If you end up with blisters, at the very least, you're going to be slowed down significantly. I keep an extra pair of regular socks, a pair of alpaca wool socks, 2 packs of moleskin, and a handful of bandaids in a zip lock bag. One of the first things I would do - once I was sure I could do it safely (away from a bunch of people) - is to take care of my feet before any risk of blisters. I know I can go at least 5 miles before that becomes a risk. Ladies, if you typically wear heels/dress shoes in the office, make sure you have "real shoes" in your bag! In addition to that, I also have a couple of bread sacks. As a child, before you went out to play in the snow, your mom put bread sacks over your socks to keep your feet dry - and it worked! I carry a poly tarp. Inside the package for the tarp, I have my contractor bags, tent pegs, and paracord, so it's a shelter kit.
Oh, I remember the bags on the feet 😀 thanks for sharing!
Fan of colloidal silver, been making it for ten years now. Yep needs be 99.99% minimum
That's something I've always wanted to try. I just don't want to turn blue, haha.
@@Pineboxperspective one guy did, but he took a version meant for photography... Long as the water is distilled and the rods pure you can't go wrong. 24v.
This is something i give a lot of attention too. Alcohol, tobacco and meds top of my list.
Yep, great addition. Ive a few that use shotgun primers rather than the whole shell. 😊
I have the TBS bottle and cup, so versatile. Nice idea. Cheers
Have you seen the nitecore head torch? Its tiny. Love mine. Never let me down. Nice video, cheers.
I just recently seen the nitecore. Thanks
