    Very interesting especially John's heat pump but crucially what was the actual power used (presumably 8,000/2.9?) and what was the power used by the system it replaced? i.e. the most important number is the energy saving!!! Also the solar panels - is that the gross generation of 3,500kWh - how much of that was actually used? I have a Mitsubishi Ecodan R32 11.2kW which replaced a 22kW boiler. The gas boiler consumed 21,000kWh pa whereas the heat pump used only 4,000kWh in its first full year, a simply staggering amount of energy saving, and this is the point which needs to be highlighted above all else because it's a game changer in terms of reducing fossil fuel demand from unstable regimes like Russia and the middle east, addressing skyrocketing costs and reducing CO2 emissions.

    The beagles max out at 38C, but require organic fuel, I don't know what their COP would be.
