The Citadel
October 2018 hike to the Citadel Ruins on Cedar Mesa. Please take care if you do this hike and respect this land! Do not go inside the ruins-any ruins and avoid touching them. Please leave all artifacts right where you found them...take nothing but pictures!

Minivan Camper

I hope this helps others creating their own "Poor Man's" camper conversion. I searched around TH-cam for something when I was planning this build and didn't find much so...here you go.
Is there a woodworking plan for this van camper unit?
Sorry... no.
Can you please make a video showing how you did it please
Sorry don't even have the van anymore.
Cool van do you still have it
can you provide detailed instructions? no nothing about carpentry...no help around me...
Great build. Thanks for the video! You gave me some great ideas for my build 👍😊
Awesome!!!👠🚌👠
Do you recommend buying a minivan with some roof and all wheel drive or you think that's an Overkill
Whatever works for you. We eventually bought a used Class B campervan. The raised roof and amenities are nice. We use the van often.
guys please help to like and subscribe!!! we should let more people to expose to such good idea <3 <3 <3
I like your idea!!! keep it on!!
Excellent I like it very much. 👍👍.
Thank you for this video. Your good description and the photography helped us plan for this hike. Nicely done.
Hope you have a great hike! We are headed to Fish and Owl Danyons next week!
what about bake side , you can open back trunk and let people to see what it's looks like ,
Excellent! Nice build and implementation
need help with fixing my car I'm a diabetic homeless and stuff I need help with fixing my ride to where I can make it a good home till I get more money I'm on disability income
Like the bench/bed...
Very disappointed that he didn't bother to show the back side!
Well done!
I was so impressed with the build, I didn't even notice the missing appendage until he sat down at 4:30. Now I'm even more impressed. <3
He's the very very RARE breeds of AMERICANA that's disappearing fast ! Just when you start to give up & accept the new breeds of good for nothing as the " norm " they pop up like this & announce they still exist & renew your hope! May God shadow him in every way & give him the strength to do his thing 🙏
This is exactly want I planned for my conversion !! Very good’
Great idea but I wish you had shown the back side of the bed so I could get a better idea on how to do the framework
It took me at least 4 minutes to realize he didn’t have his left arm. I love the functionality of the bed. It’s genius

Nice (:
The bed design makes you extra sleepy. Lol
Hello, my name is Kelkiyana Yazzie and I am a park ranger at Navajo National Monument. We are creating a video that highlights the Keet Seel hike and would like to ask your permission to use some of the footage in this video. We can credit you as the original owner of the video. Please let us know as soon as you can, thanks!
Good job ... thanks for the insights!
That bed/seat is a wonderful idea! Great job, Sir!
Would a futon work the same?
If a futon will fit in your van... sure.
Nice, I think this is just what I have been looking for. Great job. I’m going to give it a try.
👍👍👍
Very nice!!
GREAT IDEAS/VIDEO !!!
I Should Stop watching van life/transformation. More I watch more I want to have my own. Then I think if I will be able to handle the cold weather and the every night hassle of where to park. In my community I have seen two mini vans recently. I think it's a matter of time until neighbors call the police. Great Video by the way.
Nice idea, having the front part of the bed flip up on hinges instead of simply copying the old VW camper concept.

I am impressed !!!! With skills and motivation like that you are far from being "poor". You are not the money you have in your wallet or Bank.

I've done something similar with my Toyota Sienna, but it probably was a lot easier for me since I'm a solo traveler and don't live in the van full time. You can check it out on the About tab of my TH-cam channel at this link: th-cam.com/channels/C2KKsaplFD5H3sr_ORE_KQ.html There are links there for the way I travel, the design philosophy, a description of all the components, a list of prices and sources, and one about the evolution of the campervan over a three year period. Needless to say there were many changes along the way to get to the current configuration. Click the information circle on each photo and video at the links to see the accompanying description and comments.
Hello, I think i'm going to try and hike this trail with a few friends for spring break which is the 2nd week of march. Do you happen to know how the weather is at this time? Also, I was just curious how marked/clear the trails are and what is the best way to research this route ahead of time? We are not the most experienced hikers so we are breaking the trip up into 4 days and I was wondering if you had any recommendations about that. Thanks!
The weather on the rim could be anything from snowy to gorgeous. We have hiked in and out of the Grand Canyon in January with plenty of snow on the rim, but usually the trails are clear no more than about 1/2 mile down. Watch the weather reports, phone the back country office and be prepared with Yak Tracks or other traction devices if the trail is snowy/icey on top. The first few miles off the top on Hermits are the most strenuous of this loop. Trail is clearly marked if I recall but use "ihike" or some other app and or carry a map with you. This trip was 4 days as well but we spent 2 nights at Monument so we could walk the wash to the river. If you don't want to walk to the river, you could even out the milage a bit by camping at Horn Creek the second night then Indian Gardens, then out the 4th day. Cheers!
Don Can we become colla orators. I'm convrrti g my 2004 honda odyssey into a csmper. Can you share drawings? For bench bed. See my video TH-cam: sc hobbyist I'd like to do a design with you. Let's make a living on innovation. Enjoylifepod@gmail.com
I think it was in May
Beautiful scenery. What time of year was this?
Where do you store your mattress?
Great design on the couch bed. Are you still using this system? It would be great to see the support mechanism for the backrest from the rear of the van. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.... no we moved on to a class b RV a few years back. The support for the back rest is quite simple being just a notch in the 2x4 frame for the plywood to slide into. To make the slot I just positioned the back rest where I wanted it then laid a straight edge on the back side and against the 2x4 frame this allowed a line to be drawn on the frame projecting the angle needed for the support notch/slot. Then just used a jigsaw to cut out a notch about 1.5 inches deep. Hope that helps! Cheers!
Still helping others in 2019 me dear!!!!! THANK YOUUUU!!!!!!!
Very little info and too much talking
only thing i'd try to improve it instead of 2x4s id use all plywood you could probably gain an inch or two of headroom and lose a tiny bit of weight
that's pretty cool thanks for the vid
I hear it in alot of vids. Thanks for clearing that up. Great adventure. I take it your partner didn't want to be on film. Too bad would like to get both sides of the adventure.
What is that "racheting" sound. It's like an alien.
I have my GoPro clipped to my shoulder strap... I think that is the sound you hear. No aliens that I remember!
