    Load of crap! There is no “civil unrest” and there has never been terrorism as warned on the US travel advisory. Most parts of Trinidad have zero crime. Not even petty crime. Crime happens in the populated areas and violent crime is mostly gangs fighting gangs again, in the populated ghetto areas. Trinidadian are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Our problem is that the courts and police are dysfunctional and we continuously circulate the few criminals we have, placing the same ones on bail over and over again. Criminal make up a tiny part of our population. Our government is useless and mismanage everything and make everything about politics. Visitors who keep out of certain areas should have no trouble. Those areas have nothing to offer you and you miss nothing. In Trinidad there are over 100 waterfalls with the most diverse flora and fauna of any Caribbean island because we were once joined to South America. There are amazing wetlands, forest, mud volcanos, natural Savannah’s and beautiful unspoiled coastline.

      These are all great questions that you should research BEFORE making your decision. Channels don't like to include this type of information because, many smaller developing countries say one thing one day and the next month, its something different. It takes on a liability to talk about these subjects without knowing if it will still be true by the time the viewer gets to the country.

    I'm glad Tony found a job. But he should have never had a mortgage at 65 years old. Had he handled his money properly, he would have had a paid off home at least 10 years earlier and had plenty of money in the bank. Sadly, the majority of people in this country don't know how to handle money.

    • @BudgetRetirementOptions
      @BudgetRetirementOptions 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tony, like many career minded people moved from job to job to accommodate growth in their career. That more than likely is how he ended up with a mortgage at 65. And owning a home in San Francisco, once it's paid for is like automatically being a millionaire!

    • @Atwater20
      @Atwater20 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BudgetRetirementOptions You can do that and still have a paid off house long before you're 65. If you buy a house later in life, buy one that you can pay cash for or one you can pay off quickly. It still boils down to making the right decisions.

    Costa Rica is the second most expensive country in Latin America (Uruguay is first), Costa Rica is 45% more expensive than Mexico. I live in CR for 5 years with my local wife and her 2 children and we live on $5,000 a month retirement and it’s paycheck to paycheck. We live in a nice 3 bedroom townhouse at $1,700 a month in San Jose. It is becoming more expensive do to an explosion of Narco Gangs. Drug trafficking is now the largest employer in the country and the Narcos are buying up homes. Crime especially murder which was 17.6 per 100,000 in 2023, is up do to the Narco State corruption. Food, cars, electronic and wines are ridiculously expensive do to the import taxes on any imported item. Investigate yourself and visit a few times before making a decision on retirement to any country. Happiness is based on your needs and means so good luck to all with your decision.

      It was included because of the sea view. You are correct, not on the Mediterranean Sea.

      Depends on where you are. The rents are between $700 and $1000 in Belize and Costa Rica, but I saw rents around $400 when visiting Costa Rica. It depends on where you are. I know for a fact that you can live well on $1200 in Brazil.

      Belize is the most sparsely populated nation in Central America. It is larger than El Salvador. Slightly more than half of the people live in rural areas. About one-fourth live in Belize City, the principal port, commercial center, and former capital. About 80% of the population are Christian. Yes, favorable places to live in Belize are pricey. But these favorable places are also a little dangerous when the ocean roars or during hurricane season.

    That knocks a lot of People out of the equation unless you have a fat pension/an equally fat Social Security check.

      True. That is why many people are going for six months. Flying out of the country and then returning for as long as the immigrations officer will allow. Others are moving further south for three to six months and then returning to Mexico.

    The big BIG thing that you left out is the Residency Process. For Belize, I believe it's a bit easier than CR.

      Yes, a couple viewers have indicated that they want to know more about the Residency Process for these different countries. The channel is looking to include this information in future videos. The problem is, many of these countries change the rules at a moment's notice and this leaves the info in the video incorrect.
