I forgot to mention in this video, the top of your steerer tube must be cut down 3mm shorter than the top spacer or the top of stem (whatever is on top). If the steerer is too long you risk damaging the headset and steerer and not solving the issue of play in the headset! Hit me with any comments or questions!

WTH? 20 minutes….and nothing since. I had the Evan’s osteotomy 5 weeks ago along with calcaneal osteotomy on same foot. In hard cast now Cast off and boot hopefully in 1 week. Cast sucks. Foot elevated most of three weeks Be nice to hear how you did. 3 years is a lot of stuff going on to prevent an update Btw…I’m 66 in good shape with positive attitude this will help. Both feet are flat but only left over pronated to a point I felt I needed surgical support
Very poorly designed part
I’m wondering how long it took you to walk pain free after surgery
I’m wondering how long it took you to walk pain free after sugery
I find this 5 weeks after my foot surgery 😭😭 lol currently hanging out in a cast for at least another week. I had extremely flat feet and then I was having pain. MRI showed my posterior tibial tendon was ripped to shreds and my arch had totally collapsed and I could barely walk
I have my surgery set for the first of November
bro how did the surgery went?
This helped me allot thanks man
please do an update to this video. praying that it went well for you.
Thank you so much. This was quite helpful. I am having the same surgery in about five weeks, and I’m so nervous. I’ve watched several of these videos, but you were the first person who has explained the nerve block, which I will also be having. Hope everything turned out perfectlyand that you are 100% now.
Awesome work
How are your feet since surgery? I hope you are doing well!
I have been to a lot of races and participated in many races and rides and I have never seen a chain slip off the large cog of the cassette and into the spokes. Maybe it is an issue on some department store bikes, but I've never seen it or even heard of it happening to anyone.
Yeah it's near impossible on a properly adjusted derailleur unless you are bashing it on something.... Butttt, Even some mid-tier bikes are built pretty poorly out of the factory, which was the whole liability reason these discs (and the "lawyer lips" on quick release skewers became common. I worked as a mechanic for a few years, we would clip these out and adjust the lower limit screw, they almost always came too loose
Thanks SO much for this information. I'm 69 and have had problems with my foot/ankle for over 25 years. I've done all the non-invasive stuff and now I'm scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks Like you,. I will be having 4 procedures done (The surgery is called The All American) and in 2024, there is still very little 1st person information available so this video was God send. I hope you consider doing another video that gives us an update.
How did your surgery go
Are there any updates on this surgery?
I just had this surgery may 9th. I never knew soo many people dealing with the same problem as me Its nice to hear everyones story and comments. Im now 4 weeks in and it seems like 4 years🤦.wife and 3 kids Need to stay strong and positive 💪🏾. Just anxious to get rehab and get back to being an active dad. Patientce!!
I have very similar feet and I’m in the process of scheduling surgery. I’d love to know how you’re doing. And best of success to your business and life experiences.
I hate these so much
Hi Cedrick, thank you very much for your generosity explaining in details what you have been through with your flat feet operation. Actually, I’m 80 years old, live in Spain and so happens that I’m immersed in the process of what is called “Osteotomía varizante de calcáreo” and your video help me first of all to understand the procedure and above all to be patient. In my case, the “provoque flat feet”, was caused by walking barefoot on hard sand in the beach during long periods of time, something I never knew or red about. Hope you are well and I repeat THANK YOU.
Plz give an update, I'm 42 & have been limited from this condition since the age of 7. The pain and issues have definitely progressed over the years. My feet are so flat, I'm slufoot, my ankle bones aren't even properly positioned and the arch bone is bowed outward. I really want to go to a great doctor who knows what he's doing and have no reviews or testimonials to have an idea of whom to consider
Cedric, I hope you’re doing well and that your surgery was successful and improved the quality of your life. However your video has only confused us even more due to the lack of any update regarding your rehab process and overall result after healing. That’s really the whole point of the surgery and what people suffering with severe flat feet are looking for. Wishing you all the best!
I wonder if we have this kind of surgery in South Africa?
How long were you on crutches?
Could you please give an update, how you are doing today? How the healing process was and if you were able to be back on your feet in September as planned... and how the 2nd surgery went - if you did it. I am really interested. I may also need to get corrective surgery and yes, you are right - there is hardly any material out there. A recap would be much appreciated! Greetings from Berlin, Germany. 🤗
Hey, Cedric, I just watched your really helpful video. I'm due to have foot reconstruction surgery and I'm freaking out about the screws. They're going to cut my ankle in half among other things. Were you ever able to run again? Please, an update?!
Please we need to know how are you doing.. was the surgery helpful? Thanks from Bolivia 😊
Can you run now?? Dance? Wear high heels?? Would really like to be able to do all these things!!
Was it worth it bcz im a competitive cyclist too and i have really bad flat foot i tried exercising the arch and all that work and i got scoliosis too im still 18 what do u think sir.
I’m 61 and have put up with my left foot being flat my whole life. It got to the point where walking about 1 kilometre was painful. I had the operation 4 weeks ago. I would definitely recommend getting it done, especially while you’re young as your bones heal quicker. Do a lot of research and get peoples reviews/opinions of the orthopaedic surgeon. As people have said, you definitely want someone that does this very regularly and not someone that just removes bunions or ingrown toenails. This is a big surgery and you’ll be total no weight baring for minimum 6 weeks and then another 6 weeks starting to weight bare with a moon boot. First two weeks is in a back slab plaster cast and elevated and pain medication for a four or five days. Like good pain medication. First two or three days isn’t too good and I guess the stage of starting to walk and physio will not be fun. I haven’t got to that stage yet but I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end. I have a moon boot on now while I sleep and while walking around on the crutches. You can take it off through the day which is a big relief and I can see I have a nice arch now. Six months pain now, is better than your whole life and trust me, it’ll get worse as you get older if you don’t get it fixed. All the best if you do.
Thank you were making this video. I am getting flatfoot reconstruction next month and this video is very helpful.
I have a flat foot and it’s really painful but I do need a surgery but I’m just scared
Did you have this surgery in the USA? The orthopaedic surgeons I’ve been to in Canada say there is nothing they can do for me.
Well I wouldn’t go to them as there definitely is something that can be done. I’m from Australia but I had to travel 4hrs to a capital city to have it done. There were orthopaedic surgeons closer but this surgeon performs this operation very regularly. You need someone that is can do complete ankle reconstructions. Admittedly it’s only been 4 weeks for me but I can see I have a nice arch now. It’s quite a big operation so only go to someone that you can get peoples reviews and opinions on. Someone that does it very regularly. Less chance of over correction with someone that has a lot of experience. All the best.
I had severe flat feet. I didn’t even know there was corrective surgery until I was referred to a great orthopedic surgeon. I had my right foot corrected in Nov of 2022. Then the left one 5 weeks ago in Dec of 2023. If your in pain can’t walk right, or do anything that this deformity causes go see an orthopedic surgeon . Go to someone that has done this surge try multiple times, everyday. I know podiatrists can do it, but they don’t do this everyday. I am not slamming them, but this is a big surgery. Next be prepared for the none weight bearing process. It’s the toughest part. Think of everything and plan. How can you move in your house? Get to work? Shower? If you plan this will go much easier. When you go to physical therapy it will hurt, walking will hurt. For me, I had the calf lengthened, an extra bone removed, some type of prosthetic in my ankle and heal bone moved. So you will not take off the minute you start putting weight on it, be patient. You will be sore after long walks even at 6 to 8 months. For me it was about 10 months. But it was so successful, I did the left foot. It’s a long process, but had no idea what it would give me back. I wish you well Cedric and I hope when I go back this week I get to start putting weight in it!
How are you doing now ?
I had the same surgery my extra navicular bone was about 2 inches long and I was seriously walking on it even though it was inside my inner foot. I have to get my right foot done as well so you’re saying I have to probably wait a year for the other foot to be done? My surgery was august 12th 2024
Omg our feet looks absolutely the same I have extreme flat feet and my surgery is 12/5/23 I'm 54 yrs old I live alone with 2 pups I'm so scared of the replacing my heel centering it also putting cadaver bones in me also lengthening my calf muscle/tendon I'm just sad I'm scared the pain will be extreme ty for the video
I just had the 1st surgery may 9th It's nice to hear peoples stories All the best in your recovery 💪🏾👍
Had it done and still healing, was January 13
Just somehow came across this. Can you give an update now? I am VERY curious. I never knew this was the cause of so much pain.
The video is awesome and very informative. I will have reconstructive foot surgery in November 2023. Thank you for sharing.
Hi, what procedures are you having done? I'll be having three procedures in October 2023.
Hello! How did your surgery turnout? Do you have any before and after pictures and/or videos?
Would have saved me a lot of headache, sweat, and stress if TH-cam had recommended me this video rather than all the other compression plug videos. Loosened the inner bolt up like all the other videos mention & the expander dropped down my fork. I had to order a pick to slide the expander parts up the tube then I was able to turn the bike upside down to get the bottom wedge out. Thanks for explaining how the system works with a demonstration as well! I understand it way better now.
I did the same. I made a hook from an old brake cable to slide the expander parts up the tube.
Yo C-Dog, what's your status? We want to hear how you are doing. It's bee two years. Where's the update video?
Haha ok, ok. I give - I will make the update video, Ive put it off because my life has been crazy up and down the past couple of years. In general I'm doing a lot better and enjoying life. Some specific setbacks around my situation I'll go into. Putting it on my calendar to record. Look for it!
@@Ninjumpany quick updates? Overall big improvement?
@@Ninjump Subbed, waiting on the video!
Did u get the other foot done yet?? Would u refer your surgeon to others who have similar conditions as your's? I'm in constant pain, plus I'm tired of my shoes leaning and as a child I dealt with a lot of ridicule. My feet are turned outward and kids used to say I walked like a duck. Now I have fibromyalgia and issues with my hips, I'm sure my collapsed arches contributed to the hip and back pain. Hope to hear from u soon
@@Ninjump Glad to hear you're doing better! Tell us more..... ;)
Jan. 18th I had surgery... 5 procedures.. now, 6 months later, walking, but still in pain. Alighment is great... just keeping fingures crossed for recovery. This is a long one!
Hey Cedrick, I hope you are doing much better. Can you please give us an update video? You are correct that there are very few videos by patients who have had this surgery. You could do the world a big favor by giving us updates. I will subscribe to you now with hopes that we hear from you. Blessings!
Thanks, surgery booked for 3 weeks from now. You explain things so well. Looking forward to being able to walk without pain.
Have you had it done and if so how are you doing now?
Thanks - very helpful video.
Thanks. It helped
How are you now en did you do the other foot also? I’m thinking to get the surgery too.
nice!
i did not know they could correct flat feet. I have high arches which has its own issues. Never heard of flat feet surgery...glad it went well.

I had surgery 2 years ago for a collapsed left foot. This had limited walking, gym, standing, I had become a prisoner in my own house. In the past I had bunion surgery, so I went back to the sane Doctor and facility. His diagnosis was an operation with a 3 month time frame of not putting that left foot down on the floor. I had to keep the leg propped up on a special pillow. I would say I was on medication for about a week. Since I had to visit him 5 days after the operation, I bought a knee scooter, so I could get around. It helped . After a 10 week recovery, I graduated to a boot, for two weeks. The shoe he recommended was HOKA, BONDI 7. This shoe has a wide toe front with a thick soul. They also have recovery shoes that helped significantly. Don’t put the operation off. After the operation I had problems with my balance, with therapy there was improvement. After a busy day I am tired, however I have a quality of like that I would not have enjoyed. Good luck.
Hey how are you now?
Thanks! didn't care about it but it was busted up and in the way. cut it off in less than 5 minutes... just the snipper tool required. Sweet!
Right on!
How is now?
Wow! This is so beautiful. Thank you ❤
