Synth-driven music inspired by library and documentary sights and sounds circa 1978-1984.
Cherry Audio P-10 - Sound Bank '79
Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Cherry Audio P-10 finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.
A bank comprising 35 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-10 analog poly synth. This bank was designed as "prophet-5 patches", focusing on only single layer sounds. There will be another bank in the coming weeks comprised of all bi-timbral patches.
Sound Bank '79 is a series of vintage tones for different synths and plug-ins, so look out for future releases. Recorded completely dry with no external effects or processing.

Just got this. Will we be getting your ‘79 Soundbank for the TEO-5?
Yup! This patch will be included in it :)
How does this compare to the OB-X8? Sound-wise and programing?
Sound-wise they're both in the same ballpark, but there's way more to the X8 because you can stack patches, along with the four-pole filter modes. Both are really cool though in their own way and have that classic tone.
Filmstrip About Puberty; Cafeteria Mashed Potatoes; Marbles At Recess; Rich Kid's Game Gear
Now I must buy an OBX8
haha :)
This cover art is so VHSey! I love it.😅
I adore this channel
thank you! glad you're digging the vibes 📽
we were promised flying cars and a Jetsonian future-but it was better than that. Analog synth RETROFUTURE PARADISE '79, baby!!!
:)
I like Circuit Board.
Thanks! Yeah I like that one too
Spectacular! It sounds 100% real. The exact sound of 70's, made now.
Thanks! Glad you like it
Ultra Amazing!!!!
Thank you!

everythign about your channel... the sound design. the preset names. the cover art. perfecto.
thank you!!
Oh wow your presets sounds so deep and analog! And thanks for letting me know!
Thanks!
YESSSSS. By far the best VST I bought this year. Have been wondering if you'd make a bank
:)
Arturia Minifreak pls!
it's on my list, definitely hope to do it!
Honestly you play these sounds better than I ever will, especially "Snowfall" and "Warped Oscillator". Mind if I sample those demos by the way?
Thanks! Many of these are sequenced and not played.
Sure go for it
dude i think you should look into advertising yourself as a freelance sound designer
Thanks, yes I do freelance work :)
@@polydatayou ever did factory patch work on any synths? no hate just curious
@@visagemsc yup, I did factory patches for every GForce instrument that came out in the last year.
Danm!
Funky AND spooky. Sooo good😋
thanks!
Purchased this sound bank and love it. Would love to see another P6 sound bank with 30 new patches.
Glad you're liking the patches! Yes, would love to do more if I can get my hands on a prophet-6 again.
Nice!! I also have a prophet 5 and believe there are not enough patches in this variety available to folks like me. I would be very happy if there was another set of patches for the P5. Honestly, more so than the Prophet 6.
@@weave_of_k Yeah, I have the 3 banks for the prophet-5 available for now, not sure when I could add more. Same as the prophet-6, I would need to get my hands on a rev 4 again.
What kind of drum/gear/synthesizer/instruments/equipment that you made this music & video?
This synth is the only hardware I used. Effects and reverb from Ableton. The drums were LM-1 samples. Shot on iphone.
Spotify?!
My other music, like my full-length "Tapestry" are on all streaming services, but this particular one is only on Bandcamp - polydata.bandcamp.com
This is an OG model
Which revision is this model?
3.2
been listening with good headphones to your prophet 08, prophet rev2 and patches and it's basically impossible to say which is which, love the patches man! I'm a super happy Rev2 owner btw
Thank you! Yeah Rev2 is a great one.
get this dude a release on dewolfe
Do you have banks for the Hydrasynth Explorer too?
Hi there, these work with any of the Hydrasynths. As a matter of fact, I made them on an Explorer :)
Absolutely love your 70/80’s style commercial program shorts! Remember hearing this form of synthesis as background music as a kid on various television programs. So when can we hear your stuff on some of the Bruton Music Libraries!! Keep the uploads coming….very inspiring Thank You 🙏🏼
thank you, glad you're enjoying the sounds!
nice , but i'd like bundles.. as i own a few synths you do things for ..
yup! Bundles are offered, just send a message through the contact form in the Polydata store :)
How do you make your presets sound so buttery? What do you put in the recording?
Nothing in the recording, this is just the plug-in dry with no processing. The buttery sound is in the patch itself :)
Any chance you could do a ‘79 preset pack for the Arturia MiniFreak?
maybe! I can add it to my list of possible future releases.
This would be amazing!!!!!@@polydata
soooo nice!
thank you! :)
So I have to praise you for the function of getting to the next patch after a double tap on the right screen. The first time I get to experience this, perfect.🍻
Take my moneys .. very dope
thanks!

Seeing you’ve played with both the OB-6 and the OB-X8. Do you favor one over the other?
the OB-X8, but both are great and are a bit different from each other and what they can do, depends what you're looking for
You’re making the Arturia P5V sound very close to my Prophet 5 rev4. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it 😂
:)
Wow…I'm curious about the setting value of the patch..😢😢
I don't have it saved, but the filter envelope settings can be seen on the screen. It's 2 oscillators, with oscillator 2 tuned up a 5th.
I want this juicy patch!
Prophet sounds absolutely incredible here, great work. Missing my Rev4 now! 2:28 in particular super cool.
thanks! glad you enjoyed it :)
I just struck gold finding this video and your patches! Thank you.
thanks! glad you like them :)
Do you sell your presets? I love all the tones you get out of the amazing Prophet 5
thanks! Yes, I have many preset banks available in my store, including 3 banks for the prophet-5 rev 4, but I don't have any for sale for the rev 3 currently. The URL is polydata.bigcartel.com
