Tassie Dad Adventures
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 ส.ค. 2022
We are based in the north of Tasmania and lucky enough to have a couple of boats ready for our adventures.
this year we will be getting in to a bit of trout fishing until it warms up a bit then hopefully doing a fair bit of diving and remote fishing.

Meander River Anglers access brown trout
Very well done in absolute crap conditions. You deserved the win. Congratulations.
thanks mate was hard going. hopefully i can find a decent fish in Cresent this weekend
Well done mate
thanks, was a good result
Great stuff mother flapper ;-)
missus has been on to me about my potty mouth! i really am trying
I thought the season didn’t open I’ll the 15th? 🤔
in the north of Tasmania it is shut from1st September till 31st October, south and south east are shut from 15th October till 14th November . its hard work keeping up with the different dates the fisheries app makes it really easy to keep up to date though
Nice work! Heading out this Wednesday morning to have a crack. Cheers
on an in coming tide they are often between the pilot station and the light house. good luck with them
Covering ground is the key man especially if your not familiar with the water ! Find out it's layout ! And I always love a windward Shaw!
yeah need to head back up the level should have dropped a bit and can probably access alot more shore. now its heating up i struggle to do as much trout fishing. but i am sure i can work something out
Very peaceful mate, nice fish too
thanks mate. is certainly a nice change of pace just walking the banks by myself
Percentage of rainbows up there is pretty low from my experience. Fished Camden somewhat regularly the last 3 seasons and only caught 2 and seen 1 more.
Yeah righto thanks for that. might have to head back up for another look soon. the fish are certainly in good condition
@@tassiedadadventures7076 some of the best conditioned fish I've ever seen and some proper big fish in there as well.
yeah am keen to head back at some stage
Most of these access points lead to dead ends for anyone wishing to wade upstream
Be interesting to see if it goes better with the 'zook on it.
we backed it in to the water at Huntsmans and the Yamaha started really well and was so quiet compared to the zook, so i will gave the yammy a run this weekend and see how it goes. ultimately it will get replaced with a 4 stroke but all good things take time
I have a similar project, 4 meter deep v stessl. Hope to have up and running for the warmer months, just planning at the moment.
nice going to get the electric motor mounted this week. trout season starts in August so need to get cracking on the basics
Love it. Alice is a little champion. Congrats on catching a fish and winning the raffle. Welldone dad & daughter.
hopefully the weather plays the game this weekend for the winter classic. need to get this damn kid a tuna
Love the bucket hat mate. And Alice is a little superstar. Parenting done right.
wait till you see Alices new hat.
Geez, your boat gets along well mate!
yeah goes really well. i would love to upgrade to a 4 stroke at some stage but really like the optimax
@tassiedadadventures7076 I love the Optimax too, wish they still made them. 4 strokes aren't an upgrade mate 😁
Nice fish what’s was the location you got the snapper trying to catch some this weekend thanks
you the bloke i sent the screen shot to? make sure you let me know how you go. remember to check the barometer. you want a raising or at very least steady barometer
The sharks are nasty copped a spike in the arm didn't know 😭
i am sure they actively try to spike you, thanks for watching
Awesome video mate good gummy and great work on the snapper look forward too seeing some tuna and crayfish content
we had a couple of good goes on the cray christmas and new years eve hopefully got a bit of footage. its pretty hard work for a gumby like me
Great video and nice fish
Glad you enjoyed
Good job. Good to see real fishing - would be good to see what you use to catch fish - rigs and bait and what works for you. Keen to see what you look for catching snapper - what depth, areas etc.
thanks mate. I will try and put in a bit more information as I go along. the other day up north east i pulled up to catch some cray bait and managed to trip over a couple decent snapper. managed a king fish today at st helens but didnt have the camera as was just the wife and daughter. but keen to do more of that as well
G'day mate you have won the little comp we were running. If you can contact my Facebook page "king triton fishing" I will sort out getting you the prize
👍🏼
Nice looking rig mate.
Goes alright. Just got down to St helens with it hopefully go for a look about tomorrow
Tinny life !!! Good fun
cant wait to get out camping with the little beast. got a long weekend planned up cape portland soon
I think you better check the new Flathead rules. The north of the state it's 40cm to 45cm and anything outside that has to go back.
It is actually 35cm-40cm
thanks for the feed back. i can confirm northern limit is 35cm-40cm 10 bag limit every one needs to check the current size limits for your area to ensure compliance
@@tassiedadadventures7076 - my bad you are correct. I must have mis-read the information.
no stress its hard to keep up with all the new rules i actually thought i was only allowed 5 flat head when i went out but was pleased to see i could get 10 up north @@brettchatwin7788
love the video keep up the good work
thanks mate having alot of fun doing them
Also maybe cast soon as hit water twitch twitch pause twitch twitch pause slow wind twitch twitch pause just a few things I do n helps not trying to be a know it all or anything just maybe if I can give a tip might help n to share it around maybe great vid aswell keep em coming 😁
Hey mate I've seen alot of ppl just flicking out towards middle but never see flick hard along the bank maybe might be a tip but I see more fish along the edges then anywhere else even the lakes up here great n arthers I fish along bank never cast out now when in boat get in close n flick to edge I've literally caught 95% of my fish within a meter from bank
i usually fish the edges but with the limited access on most of these rivers i try and fish the snags. alot of which don't show up on the camera. most of the rivers i have been fishing have had rubbish access to cast the edges
So fishing the banks like that would you choose a 7'6 rod over a 6'6 if you had the choice? Heading down to Tassie on my motorbike so need a travel rod and i have the choice of the 2. Wont be bring waders.
i would go the 6'6 as alot of its through the trees and limited casting area i dont use waders at the moment just sometimes wading boots. keep an eye on my videos as i am doing a fair bit of rivers at the moment as my big boat is getting some work done.
@@tassiedadadventures7076 Cool thanks. Never been to Tassie so have subscribed.
Hey mate nice video was this from the access point furthest away from Westbury?
yeah mate up near the pine plantation
Last comment was spouse to say eggmonte ,try a blue no 3 celta next time that's all I fish with ,and great results
thanks for that i will have to get a few celtas was running them a few years ago with good luck
Nice work, have fished Meander downstream a lot, always wondered about that section. The bank looks more accessable on the other side, always the way :)
if you go to the next access 900m or so up the road the river access is better but a bit of a mission through the pine plantation. really hard going through the gorse prickles and black berrys
Wicked work
thnaks mate. lures work awesome in the rivers!
