If non-CDL, why pull into scale ?
Anybody running freight for hire has to have an ELD now and log hours. Same goes for weigh stations, we are under all the same regulations and laws as anyone else. I have an ELD in my truck and have gone through multiple level one inspections. I think it was about 3-4 years ago that they changed it.
So non-CDL means no 10 reset needed, right ?
Still need to do the reset as well. It’s the same as a semi, we just can’t use sleeper or split our clock, we have to run it straight.
How is your truck doing since the repairs? Hopefully driving and handling ok for you...
IMHO you pros should stop advertising what you make. Thats no one's business but your own. This invites even more wanna-bees into the industry lowering prices even more for (again) pros like you and Alex.
Glad you’re back.
Thank you!!
Nice seeing videos again. Love the 'on the road' shots, since it's all places I used to travel. Miss the Siskiyou shots, but it's all good (edit* I gotta remember to comment after the video, not during). Just out of curiosity, on an unrelated topic, I would think the time off when the truck was down would have been a good time to get the CDL. Would you say the CDL more of a bonus than a necessity in hotshot?
It just depends on someone’s situation I guess. I could definitely use a CDL and I’d prefer it, but I couldn’t afford it while also paying for everything while being down, it was just too much. I definitely thought about it.
Good to see back rolling. Keep the oily side down..
Thank you!!
Get that money brother drive safe 🤘
Thanks bro!!
Another great video as always. Glad your back on the road. Always hard to get back in the swing of things when you have been down for awhile. Keep up the hustle.
Thank you!!
Going into San Diego...better make sure you have enough fuel and time on your clock to get in and out...truck stops are few and far between down that way.....keep doing what you do brother! Love the videos!
Thanks bro!!! Ya man I would have thought there’d be at least one truck stop, but no! I had to find a Shell station and maneuver my way in and out to get diesel on my way out of Vista.
@Blue_Sky_Hotshots man...youre up early...its like 4am out there! I'm on East Coast time....Binghamton,NY is where i currently am at...going to Portsmouth, NH...be safe out there driver!
I just recently subscribed to your channel. I did not realize that you were out of work for nearly 2 months. Glad you're back working! I am an AMSOIL dealer, and I am interested in learning about your maintenance practices. Can I call or email you? I've also got some excellent fuel additives to help keep fuel systems clean and efficient.
I’m from Northern California and I’m looking into getting into this field. I’ve been watching a lot of TH-cam videos and it seems kinda confusing and a lot to start out to get trucking. I’m about a hour north of Sacramento and was thinking about going down to the ports in the Bay Area and southern California to haul containers. Have you ever hauled out of those area?
Ya we’ve run containers out of Oakland and Long Beach. They generally don’t pay enough for the extra fuel it takes, but if you can get $3 a mile or close to it for them then I’d say it’s worth it. Are you thinking about just getting a Cali # and running intrastate, or will you get an MC to run interstate?
Nice tarp job
Thanks man, it’s tough when it’s not even 😂 but I made it work.
@ lol be safe out there
hi, which trailer do you use?
It’s a 35+5 LoneStar with 7k axles and 14ply tires. I prefer 8k axles with 16ply, but what I have is plenty for the weight I put on the trailer.
Nice load👍. I'd be curious to see how you secured it with chains and binders...I paused the vid but couldn't see the hook up points looks like bungie cords coming through the rims?
It’s secured to the axle, especially on something bigger and a bit top heavy, I don’t use tire straps on these. The bungees are just holding the excess chain tight so they don’t come loose.
I mute my GPS lol always
welcome back brother!!
Back at it like a concrete cowboy 💪🤘
as a owner operator and driver who got 29 years out here ,this industry has when to crap.most cant speak English I death with 1 2day,they drive Thur everywhere hammer down don't care if they run you over or destroy your stuff , I really don't know what to say anymore,no English drive these automatic trucks like freaking race cars at Indy 500, I'm sorry for your loss
Hmm....so I guess that's a "no" on the gardening videos. I've been watching some videos about Carrier411 and it's impact on trucking. Have you found that to be an issue with hotshot drivers as well or is it just the big rigs? Also, I'm curious how things worked out with your old trailer. ✌
😂😂 sorry man, no gardening videos from me. Although we do have a nice garden in our backyard, I could show that in a vid
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots -- Wanted to bump this since I edited after you responded. I'm legitimately curious about Carrier411. None of what I'm seeing is positive.
Keep the GPS on but mute the google maps lady - win win
I’m gonna have to, she interrupts a lot, kinda rude if you ask me 😂
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots when are you going CDL. Time to move some dozer and diggers.
@@damiencoughlan2779 I’m really thinking about it now. If I did I’d probably go with a step deck for a year and then a stretch 6 axle RGN setup.
Hey there brother glad to see your back at it!!!🎉 I'm thinking about getting in hotshot too, how's the rates right now, are you able to make a decent living?
You can make a living, but it’s tougher now. I would only do CDL at this point and I’d try to get a 4500 at least and a 30k trailer. I’ve strongly considered getting a 5500 or a SportChassis and a 40k step deck with mega ramps, then you can haul some solid weight and put $3 a mile on your trailer consistently.
Yes sir that makes sense Thank you for your input !!
Glad you're able to come back. How is your truck? Hopefully a great body shop fixed it. Is it driving ok?
Everything is good now. We got it fixed at Lithia Body and I bought the truck from a Lithia dealer so it worked out well.
Good to see you back on the road...!!!!!
Thank you!!
That’s one stressful job man. Nice to see you are back in the saddle and bringing in some income again. Finish year strong with promise of a new year ahead.
Thank you!! 🙏
Insurance is a scam. Americans need to fight back
And that’s a fact right there!! Cost a fortune, required to have it, but they don’t ever help with anything!!
Metallica!
Absolutely!!
Get a 90 gallon auxiliary tank with gravity feed straight into your original fuel tank and you won’t have to deal with stopping at these truck stops at much. Plus you’ll save on fuel.
Man I’d love to, I have a brand new 60 gallon but I don’t use it because I have a short bed and it gets in the way of my gooseneck setup. It really sucks!!
Nah man you’re tripping I have a truck with the same setup. Running a RDS 90 gallon auxiliary gravity fed tank. Just saying man.
I like the info in your video. I'll sub for latest updates! Do you run any fuel additives to maximize fuel economy?
That's some bull shit brother Im sorry it took 6 weeks to get it all sorted out. Idk how these MF'ers can't pullout of a parked position without hitting something.
Here in Colorado we have a 10K limit on non CDL trailers. Can't really do it with that small of a trailer...
Don't feel bad this happened to me one year ago mine wasn't quite as bad as yours but this clown took off i was sleeping with my curtains up and my truck starts shaking I jump up pull the curtains so I can see what's going on I'm laying on the horn and this idiot in a company truck from Michigan just goes on like nothing happened. I get dressed call the law cop shows up I said the truck just left can't be more than 10 miles away he's like I'll call the state police they can get him stopped well that never happened left me with 7000.00 in repairs I know the truck and the driver so one day we will meet again and all I can say is I'm sorry for what's about to happen! Called his company on my own gave description of truck and driver and said he has me on his dash cam cause I helped him back into his spot beside me. They wouldn't give him up cause now it's hit and run which in the commercial line that's pretty much loss of license and job!
Call National Flatbed if you need some loads. They book hotshots for steel mills
Trabajo los mismo
Whys it called "trucking" but there is no actual truck involved... seem kinda weird.
Чё странного то! Груз и пункта а в пункт б перемещается ? Да , значит это грузоперевозки .
Well if you don’t even know what a truck is then why are you watching these?!
Truck in front, ozzy on background

You ever need help I live in Oklahoma and a CDL holder.
Nice.
Thanks!
The insurance adjuster is coming out? You meant lawyer, right?
@@georgewashington1106 biggest mistake we made was negotiating ourselves. Now we still have to wait for our attorney we hired to do everything and who knows how long that will take.
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots - In the meantime, you may have to pivot to gardening videos or something.... Good luck
I live in Nor Cal just up the hill from Sacramento, I wish I could say I'm surprised by this but I'm not. Seems like companies out here are giving out CDL's to less than qualified individuals. I worked at a John Deere dealership here for the last 2 years and unloaded lots of tractors off semi's in that time. Almost always different drivers and I would say over half of them seemed extremely inexperienced (could barely back the trailer up square with the loading dock). Even had one driver make a u turn right in front of the dock after we unloaded him. Ended up pulling his trailer over the top of a above ground watermain and continued to drive right past the 40 foot geyser of water he had just created. CHP came to file a hit and run report, the officer told us they were going to have a nice little welcoming party waiting for him at his next stop in Stockton. Really frustrating the guy wasn't even apologetic about it, hope everything gets resolved quickly so you're able to get back out on the road asap
Was/Is there no way for the trucking company's insurance to get you a 3/4 or 1 ton rental truck until yours gets fixed? I wouldn't stand for anything else. A lot of Enterprise rental/leese trucks have gooseneck hook ups already installed. All you'd need then would be a couple of quick magnetic signs.....
@@richardbarkley9909 that’s exactly what we tried to do. Unfortunately they only rent 1 ton 3500’s that have gooseneck setups, they won’t allow a 2500 to hook up and even be used that way. Another reason why a CDL setup is just better.
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots Gotcha. So going with a 1 ton 350/3500 would put you into CDL territory then?
@@richardbarkley9909 with the trailers that I have it would because they aren’t derated. You can go with a 1 ton and a trailer like I have (get it derated) and run non CDL, but you weigh a bit more with a heavier truck. The name of the non CDL game is to stay as light as you can so you can maximize your loaded weight.
My question is why can’t you go after the company for lost wages. Even if it’s not the exact same, something is better than nothing.
@@dakotacannady6260 that’s exactly what we’ve been doing. The crazy thing is they don’t want to pay, even though in the beginning they said no problem at all. They are paid to play games unfortunately.
I’m currently in kind of the same situation I was hit in South Carolina by somebody honestly whacked out on drugs was arrested the whole nine my truck is down for five days waiting for an appraiser to get here to appraise my truck my advice make sure you are tracking your downtime and make them pay you your last wages
I’m so sorry that’s happened to you!! I’ve kept track of everything of course, but this trucking company uses a third party company to deal with claims and they haven’t paid me a penny. I’ll have to get an attorney unfortunately.
Definitely the key get a great attorney. That’s what I did first thing I got a attorney they’re working for me. The only thing you can do man shit happens. Your stuff will get fixed. You’ll be back on the road.
Man that sucks hopefully they get it fixed up in no time , one bad spot
It took a month and a half unfortunately.
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots man I subscribe to you and I got a notification this morning saying you were going from San Diego to Oregon. Yeah I just relocated to North Carolina trying to get into hot out here, but I lived in California for over 25 years and I swear to God, I think that all the drivers are out there right now still should not be behind the wheel at all, especially when you get closer to Stockton and Sacramento area.
It's hard to find professional drivers now days... it seems like anyone can get a cdl now days...
Its not exactly a difficult or highly skilled profession.
Those kind of steering wheel holders should never be allowed to be back on the road behind the wheel of a semi...
It’s a scary situation out here, I’ve been rear ended twice and now this. All out of my control, it’s a bummer.
I hope this incident doesn't make you quit ...!!! SHLITZ happens and be thankful that it wasn't a head on collision...!!!
It was just a matter of finances. I was down for almost 2 months and there insurance still hasn’t covered any lost wages. Basically it sent us back to the beginning of
Just shows how quickly life can change putting you in a challenging position. Not even doing anything but picking up supplies at a truck shop and someone with clearly no concern for others wrecks your hard work. Makes you appreciate when things are going well. Hopefully things work themselves out for you and we see you sooner then later either way another video.
That’s really how I looked at it, remembering why I do it and how good it can be. Thank you.
I’m just glad that you weren’t in the truck when that happened 🙏🙏 stay safe out there 🙌
Thanks man, keep on rolling!!
