I've had this scope for more than 11 years now in the angled version. It is excellent and whenever I'm with other people I always make use of the opportunity to view through their binoculars and scopes. I've never had anyone beat the view I have from my 'Televid 82'. The objective lens of the scope has a filter screw and I use a made in Japan 'Wallimex pro MC-UV filter 82mm' to protect the lens itself. The only oversight on Leica's part is that with the filter in place, you can't extend the extendable hood to shade the objective lens ... but ... I have never ever come across a situation where I needed it and probably never will (the filter also defeats the need for such a hood in the first place). I pair the scope with a 'Kite Ardea CF tripod' and 'Manfroto 501 HDV camera head' and use the 'Kite Viato' tripod attaching backback to carry it and everything I might need for an entire day with room to spare. There are no drawbacks with any of this gear and I can 100% recommend it to everyone. I've went for the 'Kite Skua' neoprene protective case for the scope itself; only 100 euro and it is rugged and makes the expensive telescope not stand out from the crowd. While I'm still happy with it, it has some issues: 1) it covers the screw that you can use to rotate the scope sideways, 2) the zippers are the only weak spot and sadly they are basic ones instead of extra durable ... so I now have to use ziplocks to keep the bag closed and 3) I just ordered the 1.8x extender for the eyepiece and while it will still fit the bag, the bag was intended for the scope without the extender (which hadn't released when the bag was designed). So, if I were to do it again today, I would go with the +/-250 euro Leica brand case. It uses push knobs with no zippers that can cause an issue and it allows for a little faster viewing.

Celestron makes good telescopes, but that horrible one-armed alt-az mount. Just, no. If I was given one for free, I'd still feel ripped off.

Saying that it processes via a.i. makes it sound like it’s addling data. Not the best choice of words. Doesn’t really matter though. It’s way above my retirement budget.

Over priced product. This is what i hate about Celestron, even a piece of plastic associated with Astronomy... Celestron will over charge it and make Customers pay unreasonable amount of money.
