This is somewhat interesting to watch because I am just a little too old to have gotten interested in this series when it exploded. The instant death-horror sort of games has gotten so popular I can barely see what made this one a hit with kids.

after binging this whole Playlist of backrooms stuff, I really like it. there's something so cool about the concept of a kinda weird infinite hallway being the starting point for all the nonsense that comes after. And I've seen people say about other BR canons that they lose the horror or loneliness of the original concept, but the idea that it's instead just a continuous physical rabbit hole of man made structures and ideas that are somehow, deeply just *wrong* in a not necessarily horrific way, it's just really fuckin sick. and this straight reading of it has been a really digestible method (especially since I've had it on in the back while I'm working). time to continue my new backrooms hyperinflation I guess lmao

the idea of distant civilizations connected by messengers is such a deeply human take for something like the backrooms. It feels very medieval (for lack of a better word or era). these distant peoples hardly connected save for travellers and merchants, treacherous roads with monsters and dangers nobody can quite explain, the need to connect and share stories and survive. I just think it's neat
