Knackered: Arriva North East 1454/NK10 CFY (Wilf Mannion) VDL SB200 Wright Pulsar 2
I take a ride on a knackered 1454. This horrible and obnoxiously loud noise was coming from the turbo. This bus is named after Middlesbrough Football Club legend Wilf Mannion who was born in South Bank, made 341 appearances for the Boro and scored 99 goals, he sadly passed away in 2000. Enough on that though..... I caught this dreadful sounding Pulsar on the 28 between Guisborough and Middlesbrough.

This is great when its sent down a dual carriageway. Most of the 10 plates are quite decent at Stockton.
@@NorthEastTravel1 1443 has to be my favourite Stockton 10 Plate at the moment.
What the… Which route makes a bus changing constantly from 1 to second
@@TheToneG273 What do ya mean, mate?
If you're talking about the amount of corners it turned, the amount of speed bumps it goes over and the amount of times it stopped, its just a Town route, that's all.
Not a bad one this. I still need to go out and get some more Lites. Been ill the last couple of weeks. Also, I heard news 4715 most likely won't be back on the road again. Such a shame.
@@NorthEastTravel1 Aye, someone just told me about the 4715 situation yesterday.
Some actual good thrash. 7/10 tbh
@@MiracTheEpic Parts of it were rubbish which averaged it out for me but there was some decent thrash.
What are the rattles could the rattls be fixed
@@James-zs3cn They were coming from the Emergency Exit Door so it can't be fixed. It isn't necessarily a problem with the bus, it's just incredibly annoying.
@LAMtransport76 thay could refit the door and tight it
@@James-zs3cn Its a waste of time to be honest and Arriva wouldn't do that I don't think.
Is it ready for the scrap yard yet
@@James-zs3cn Certainly sounds like it mate, but it'll probably be in service for another 5 years.
Sounds alright, just ashame it was town driving.
There was some traffic too.
Oh and the driver was already late.
That sounded really unhealthy.
To be honest, all I could hear was the cooling fans and the bus accelerating.
Just came back in service the other day after it was out for around 2 weeks just a couple of days after you boarded it. So I hope it still is like this. They've been throwing it on the 81 recently.
I saw it on the 81 on Saturday and there was also a Temsa on the 81 going the same way.
the craziest part of this video is 1552 even starting up (well, without warning sounds, that is)
@@MiracNotFound Well it did struggle...
I do love the MMC's and how quick they are on the dual carriage ways. Just want to see some Arriva E200 MMC's now for Stockton and Redcar. But Arriva have decided to choose 10 Evoras instead for the X4 so we'll see how they do when/if they arrive.
This one wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination but its probably my least favourite out of the ones I've done.
Ahh yes, Redcars amazing allocations. To put one of the most sluggish Temsas on a X4 board. This is only good for 62/63 work and should stay on there. The occasional 64/X2 and X3 isn't too bad for it but this should be one of the last Temsas that gets put on a X4. Also I see they put this out on the X4 at 7am which means they purposefully threw it on there for the day. Should have put a sluggish pulsar at least to be honest.
I was on it again today and have ANOTHER recording of it. I have one on the X2 and one on the 63. The recording on the 63 was from today.
I do like this one. I have been on it before but couldn't manage to get a recording of it. The sneezing is its main attribute to be honest.
That sounds dreadful. This was supposed to be Stocktons best Lite.
A lot of them are exactly like this.
I agree that these are no match for Stockton's 61 Plates
They seem to be a bit sluggish too.
Description is so accurate. 5 pound is legit nothing to exchange mate
This one is really good. I just hope I get a driver who is going to actually send it on a 61 plate.
Most of the drivers I've had on the 5/5A have done well with 61 plates.
1419 is a great Pulsar. I've always wondered what a Stagecoach Pulsar would be like if they ever had operated them. Now that is something I would love to have seen.
@@NorthEastTravel1 I actually googled Stagecoach Pulsar and there's a result that shows a Volvo B7RLE Pulsar and it just looks wrong in the Stagecoach Beachball Livery.
Never been on a 13 plated pulsar but would love to try one in the future.
It was my first time on one in 9 months and it wasn't too bad, but to be honest I'd rather take a ride on an 09, 10 or a 61 plate Pulsar.
Actually I'm wrong I was on one 3 months ago but apart from that it was 9 months ago.
@@LAMtransport76 09 Pulsars all the way for me personally.
@@NorthEastTravel1 Agreed, based on all 4 in their prime 09 plates clear.
To be fair the driver did really well. They were definitely giving it some. If only all drivers were like this. If we ignore the rattles, this could be a really decent operator of the 28/5A Services. 2 services which are fairly long but not too long and have a dual carriage way section to thrash down.
@@NorthEastTravel1 To be fair he was quite a few minutes late.
Even with the right driver, this one always manages to break down. Still a bit better than 1559 though
I haven't been on 1559 in some time now.
Yeh, this one is kind of average. It sounds a little bit like a rattlesnake when it accelerates xD
It's certainly not the best.
This one was known to be the worst at Redcar. It always kept breaking down and having faults. I don't know about now but it still sounded on your video that when it goes over bumps it has a hard slam onto the axle. I was on it last year on the X3 towards Lingdale way and we went over a speed bump and it slammed back down and then alarms started going off. We had to wait at Saltburn for 1567 which was the replacement to finish off the journey.
@@NorthEastTravel1 1567 isn't a much better vehicle. 1567 always has rattles, it's sluggish and it's lazy. 1564 still has the hard slam onto the axle when going over speedbumps. 1552, 1554 and 1556 seem to have the worst reliability record at Stockton at the moment.
@@LAMtransport76 Also, I see the NSA screen is working on this but the audio wasn't? I couldn't hear it anyways.
@@NorthEastTravel1It was working towards the end of the video.
@@LAMtransport76 Oh yeah it was, Must have some problems registering some stops then. The 5A used to do that but now it seems fully calibrated properly.
Another healthy sounding Ex Redcar Lite. This used to spend time on lots of different services at Redcar. It always got a chance to serve different routes. It were kind of an average performer.
@@NorthEastTravel1 To he honest I thought it were terrible when I got on it on the route 7 but it seems to perform decently on the dual carriageway.
🔥Top Catch that mate. Sounds Great. If this one had more Kickdowns to it on the Dual Carriageway, it would've sounded godly.
@@NorthEastTravel1 I've got 2 more pieces of footage on this one. One between The Start of the A171 to Nunthorpe and one between Netherfields and Middlesbrough.
Nice catch. It's always good to get a driver who actually goes fast with a 61 plate.
@@NorthEastTravel1 This, 1485, 1464 and 1468 are my favourite 61's at the moment.
