How about me and a friend actually stopping at this very store just weeks before it's closure! I far as can remember, it was during the last stretch of a hot texas summer and we just happen to stop at this store to buy a couple of sodas. We both got this erie feeling that this store wasn't doing well because we're were the few customers in there at the time. Then wow,to watch the news headlines covering this store's abandonment months later.... Me and that friend both looked at each other with an raised eyebrow and forgetting about it. The reported incident gotten swepted under the rug and resurfaced after 11 years later in a episode of Life after People... Seeing this episode in a rerun about the fetured abandoned store nearly 20 years later only resurfaced my interest in this infamous incident! My friend passed away in 10/2019 ,rip Louie.

It makes me think of that Twilight Zone episode Time Enough at Last. It was the one where the guy was the last person left on Earth because he happened to be in a bank vault when a nuclear bomb went off. When he realized what happened, he was just happy that he'd be able to spend the rest of his life reading, until his glasses broke. But really, you'd think that'd be the least of his problems because he's going to have one hell of a time not starving to death once all the food in the stores turns bad. He'd get to read all he wanted for a week or so, but then he'd better get crackin' on growing that garden and learning how to hunt and fish and can, or he's done for.
