Excerpt from wikipedia "GAU-12 Equalizer" article '22/3/16: The General Dynamics GAU-12/U Equalizer is a five-barrel 25 mm Gatling-type rotary cannon. The GAU-12/U is used by the United States, Italy and Spain, which mount the weapon in their attack jets such as the AV-8B Harrier II, airborne gunships such as the Lockheed AC-130, and land-based fighting vehicles. A lighter four-barrel version, ...

Found this guy on the kitchen counter, realised he wasn't a fruit fly so I took a short video of him on a piece of A4 paper with my USB microscope set to a low power.

JUMP! DADDY WILL CATCH YOOOOOU!!! I still use this line 30 years later when my 4 year old is climbing up my settee 😅
How did he get that!?
Harrier Jet is one of the most Unique Jet fighter, a British made.
0:08 Friendly Harrier’s incoming
Roblox War tycoon be like Momo! >:'D- :
Bro brought a frickin fighter jet to a gun fight 😮
That shootout moment reminded me of a scene in The Matrix (1999) - when Neo used a minigun to save Morpheus.
1:31 that helicopter is making a BIG MISTAKE
Can't believe this scene was shoot in 1994🔥
:D mmmmmmmmmmmmmm harrier :)
I love how the terrorist leader really needed to do a double take, to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Which also makes it more plausible for him to to pause long enough for Harry to rescue his daughter. ^^
Now i understand why it's my childhood movie, made in 1994
1:02-1:05 (o_o) Waaatttt?!?!
The "Gun" was a nozzle, fed by a propane tank with a spark plug igniting the gas. I arrived on the roof top set (20 stories up) in Miami on the Wednesday before (2 days) the film crew arrived. That afternoon Tommy Fischer's guys tested the gun at about 5:30 that evening. Such an echo throughout downtown Miami that kept going and going. Soon after they got a phone call from the police department asking that whenever the gun was to be fired, give them a heads up. I took care of the motion base that "flew" the Harrier.
the look of disbelief on the face of actor at 1.04-1.05..lol
This is REALLY impressive for 1994 🤯🤯🤯 amazing stuff, i really like this!

I like how the 60mm bullet proof glass couldn’t even handle one 7.76mm
😂😂😂😂😂😂samo u američkim filmovima 😂😂😂😂😂😂koja glupost
Why the glass on his jet isn't bullet proof?
90 seconds is the maximum time hovering for the AV-8B as the engine needs water cooling due to reduced airflow from not being in forward flight. The cannon runs on bypass air from the front fan of the Pegasus Turbofan engine and cannot function in hover mode. Two minor quibbles on an otherwise wonderful sequence in an awesome movie.
Who cares your analysis Einstein? It's just am action-comedy flick.
The rule of cool strikes again!
Totally false, without a heavy payload he can keep hover minutes perfectly fine
👍
Well, it is a "true lies" 😅
This ain't Harrier this is Hydra It's Hydra because no way at least movies should not behave like video games and give the military vehicles infinite ammo Most modern military aircrafts have heavy rounds, low quantity and high fire rate, they should not be able to fire for more than 3 seconds but in almost every movie, tv series and Anime I have watched they just give aircrafts infinite ammo
Say hello to his big friend.
F16 on duty with Arnold!
One of the best action movies of all time!
*the
I like how Harry used the side of the Harrier cockpit as a shield to protect himself from the helicopter gunfire
Gta style 😂

American in a British jet
@@MiG-31893 Well the Brits have Apache. They only change the engine. And When america saw how much of an improvement that was, they allegedly did it too
Hope nothing was flying past on the other side of the building
True.A solid point. Not only that, but working on any building behind it,could be risky. I would guess they travel quite a bit, even with drop taken into the equation.
Reminds me to the Terminator 2 minigun scene at Cyberdyne. Also one of the greateast Cameron + Schwarzenegger movies.
Not sure what's better, actually. This or the mini-gun escapade in T2. Why debate, though...just enjoy, haha. Great upload!!
Imagine watching the match if TV had of been in the corner of that building and just like that boom its gone
Just before Aziz dies though, that must've been mad fun for like 2 seconds!
how VTOL should be:
Amazing action scene
0:23 blew him away!!
In 1994 no armies in the world can stand a chance against the USA
This looks more real than any of the modern cgi clusterf*cks
It's a 1:1 scale model that was wobbled around on wires to simulate the Harrier's not super stable hovering ability. The most unrealistic thing here is the gun sound and the puny effects of what a 25mm HE/I shell would do to those terrorists' bodies.
@@MalikCarr clam down buddy
What's funny is that this is totally impossible, the harrier cannot fire it's guns while in a hover, or while the nozzles are anywhere but aft.
In theory it could work but the harrier would run out of gas very quickly. I knew a harrier pilot and he said it couldn’t hover for very long
@@MiG-31893 no, the guns require airflow to eject spent casings so it will not fire in a hover even if you pull the trigger. And the hover duration isn't due to gas, the simple explanation is it's how long the engine can overstress itself before causing damage though there are a lot more factors in that.
@@MiG-31893 It has an interlock that won't allow the cannon to fire if the engine nozzles are vectored off the horizontal flight position. The reason for This is threefold: 1. The Pegasus turbofan engine will lose power and the aircraft could depart if it ingests enough gas from firing the cannon. (In forward flight the slipstream takes this gas away from the engine intakes) 2. The spent shell chute uses airflow to dump the empties overboard, ie: it can jam the ejection mechanism- which on a 5 barreled 25mm rotary cannon... a failure to eject due to shells jammed In the dump chute can be quite catastrophic, That's alot of rotating mass, and some seriously powerfull ordnance to just "stop" forcefully. 3.the muzzle blast of the GAU12 and rate of fire is stout enough that the recoil will throw the aircraft off target, you won't hit shit even IF it could be done. Most modern aircraft have teriary ground safety interlocks built into the weapons systems - like if the landing gear is down and locked the gun can't fire unless you disable the interlock (which would only be authorized to do that if you were ground testing the cannon after servicing it) other planes might have a load cell in the main gear that if the aircraft puts weight on the mains is disables the gun. The gun will fire with the gear down, but not if the plane is sitting on the gear. Primary safety is the cockpit arming switches, then the ground pins, and covers (all the little flags on a parked jet the ground guys pull before flight) and the last safety layer are automatic interlocks that disable the weapons systems depending on what condition the airplane is in. Even then there are accidents... not too long ago a Belgian F16 accidently shot up another Belgian F16 on the tarmac with its 20mm... completely destroyed it, and damaged another.
Av-8b:*HELLO MORTHERFUCKER*
this looks phenomenal

0:14 pee ka boo
Not sure they are up for round two
Question: 😳 "Derka Derka, Mohammed Jihad, Hake Sherpa Sherpa.... Bakala?" Answer: 😏 GAU-12 Equalizer 25mm goes BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... kinda
I also like part were the helicopter can’t stand up to the Harrier The Harrier has more fire power then that puny helicopter
At 0:14 i like that shot it’s like the Terminator look kill he sees the targets and terminated them
Cool movie
