Son, good grief: GET RID OF THE DAMN THING ALREADY! Nobody ever, ever 'needed' any 'smart phone', and these evil gimmicks were not even designed to meet any genuine human need. They were invented specifically and exclusively to make you become an addict to their invasive and insulting onslaughts of advertising and offerings, and this 'social media' swamp of mass human stupidity was only ever devised to overwhelm you with urges to participate in childish gossip in order to have you pre-conditioned to buy more shit you never needed either. All I have ever seen these devices and platforms deliver is harm, often enough irreparable and extensive harm to very young people who will never be able to recover from the damage done to their lives and prospects, by malicious gossip and destructive scheming and the dismantling of their self-respect, by idle hobbyists who had none of their own. I regard the toxic combination of internet and handheld take-everywhere devices as the most destructive force ever unleashed upon civilization. If you use 'smart phones' (their being apparently way smarter than you are) or this 'social media' (which has never been anything but malignantly anti-social), then you are a collaborator in the wanton and stupid destruction of thousands of years' worth of developments in civilized interactions among real live human beings (remember them?) I had a 'smart phone' for less than a month earlier this year. I hated everything about it, found the nonstop and unstoppable waves of incoming content I never agreed to appalling and insulting, and I had to remember, this is what the human species really does all day now a quarter of the way through this Century of Stupid: behave stupidly, on the orders of forces and factions they cannot even identify much less hold accountable. And I kept coming back to my original question about everyone selling their souls on the cheap to these idiotic activities: WTF? Nobody ever forced you to even have one of these poisonous gimmicks. And nobody is forcing you to keep one. Nobody is forcing you to go on farcebook or tick-schlock or that criminal-crackpot Musk's little 'X' comedy of idiots. It isn't that you need to do less of this conspicuously stupid thing. Any cost-benefit analysis of the phenomenon of 'social media' being delivered on 'smart phones' clearly shows nothing but costs, and zero benefits. So why did you ever even start? What good has it EVER done for you or anyone you know? You already know that answer, don't you? It's that you and the rest of the civilized world need to stop doing it altogether, and soon, before it's too late. You and billions of other delusional digital-serfs have contributed more than your share already to the dismantling of human civilization. Please just stop it.
