Hi, you brigns very good information, If we want to purshase the refreshment package need to be purshased by all us or could be purshased only for one person of the cabin ?

You now can now get beer but you have to upgrade your all inclusive price to an extra 30 dollars for everyone in your party, You get better liquor choices but the extra 30 dollars is not worth it, I cant drink enough beer to justify the 30 dollars additional to the all inclusive price, The liquor choices are better, however they do not physically have any upgraded triple sec - Grand Marnier etc - so the margaritas are not noticeably different. I you want a beer or two, just pay for them al la cart, otherwise save your money, the regular drinks are really good.

Hi! Does everyone on your itinerary have to get the package if you get it?

When someone causes an issue that a pool needs to be closed down 4 times. It's time those people get banned for life. I'm sick and tired of going on a trip, and someone has to ruin it for everyone else.

We went on Icon the week of September 7th and it was honestly fun overall. One thing we learned that the tail end of the summer was one of the hottest times of the year to go. So if we go again we'll plan on the end of the year when it will be a little cooler. Food overall was awesome... we loved Izumi, Aquadome Market, Pearl Cafe and the dining room. The shows were awesome, especially the Aquadome water show and Dueling Pianos. We would also goto Boleros when the singer was there. I wasn't impressed with some of the bars since some shared the same drinks and they weren't made the same way every time between them, even though they were supposed to be the same. We learned if we wanted a specific drink that we would go to that specific spot. Another downside was people being respectful of people who used scooters or had some physical handicap. I say this since my wife had to use a scooter on the cruise and honestly some people "lived in their own world" and wouldn't move or block areas where you knew that was a walking/get around path along with what I called "Russian Roulette" with the elevators trying to get on. When we would go for dinner on the last 3-4 times to the main dining hall, my wife skipped using her scooter since it was always a fight to get her on and she wound up using her Tada Seat/Cane because it took us anywhere 10-15 minutes or longer to get an elevator that had room for the scooter and the chaos of going from one elevator to the next to see if it was open when we couldn't get on. One big thing we learned was if you have food allergies, I would recommend getting with the restaurant staff or guest services at the start of the trip since that was another issue... learning experience there. But again, overall it was a very fun experience to be on the worlds largest cruise ship.

How much do you suggest tipping your waiter?

Can I ask you what port you were at because when I look up where we are porting at Puerta Maya it didn't seem like it was that far to the taxi thing and it was underneath a thatched hut open area.

Is it still worth it if you are a suite guest? You get some included drinks with that - in the lounge. Thx

Guys, your time of year cruise advice con really applies to ANY family themed vacation. It's not just limited to Icon. Also, we experienced the "accident" in the pool situation while on Coco Cay in their adult only area Hideaway! Some drunk adults don't act any better than the kids! With that said, we agree, Icon is awesome!! Can't wait to go again!

Heading to the icon on Oct 11! Great review! I love kids but booked in Oct hoping to not have thousands of them onboard. I feel like it won’t be too hard to limit kid time. I was kinda concerned that there would not be any shade in the hideaway ..so that sucks a bit..I will just have to enjoy it in short bursts.

How often should you check the website for sale prices ?

Many people talk about how many drinks are needed to get your money's worth, but I think this misses a key feature of the drink package decision. Sure, I would spend less without the package ---- but only because I would deprive myself. I would constantly stress over whether or not I wanted to spend the money --- each and every time I might possibly want a drink. By the end of the trip I would've spent less, but I also would've enjoyed myself less - with countless drinks not bought, and a handful reluctantly bought. I do enjoy drinking, and so I opt to spend the money up front - and know that I'm now free to drink whatever I want, whenever I want. For me it's not so much about breakeven points or getting my money's worth. It's about paying for the vacation I want to have.

Another great video! For the wifi I got the basic one do you think that’s good for text messaging, calls, and FaceTime calls? Just want to be available for our daughter to get a hold of us lol. We also got the drinks package but want to change it to non alcoholic package could we do that? Thank you!

Thank you for the detailed video of what to expect for those of us who are not as well traveled as you are!

Bottom line is ALL drinks onboard is one of the most profitable areas for Royal, be it purchased through drink packages OR individual drinks. Our family does not drink a lot (we may have two or three alcoholic drinks on an entire 7 day cruise) plus, we are Diamond C&A so we get four free inclusive drinks per day (alcoholic or not). Also, strike up a good relationship with a bartender and they'll gladly give you free bottle water or soda when you get an alcoholic drink (of course you always tip).

Those mugs are exclusive mugs that are hand made. There is only like 300 of them. You should be able to see if it’s “1 of 300”. That’s so funny though, “saw a line” , sounds like something I would do. LOL. You guys are awesome.

This was a very informative video. Our drink package with gratuity is $1420 which is very expensive. I’m waiting to see if the price goes down, but I feel we’ll get our monies worth.
