I remember staying here for a week in September 1976 and I have never had such huge meals. Lovely friendly staff too. I had hoped to pay a return call in more recent years and was disappointed to see that it was gone.

Very confusing saw it in the trailer,but it looks like gleniff valley in county sligo in the republic which was also a location and being from that area i thought it was gleniff.The landscape of antrim and counties of sligo and leitrim are so similar despite being so far apart

I wouldnt bother going. You cant appreciate it. It used to be open for locals to use. Its just a business. Not my kind of thing anyway. At least there was some adventure before they fixed it up

We were planning to go there, but we have a 5 months old baby and heard that babies are not allowed.. Sure there is a reason behind that and I understand that by watching your video.. Love this! My ancestors (the Herberts) once owned this castle. It is a really special place.

This year they have scrapped it, a shame. She was much prettier than current cruise ships. Today's cruise ships are horrible. This ship in the video is a beautiful ship victim of modernity, i have seen a video and I have seen reports of its condition and it was in excellent condition, I hope the Astoria (Ms Stockholm) is preserved, also restoring to its original shape as it is the last remaining ocean liner.

Sailed on her in 1988 during her last year as CalMac "Columba". A three-day "cruise" aboard her out of Oban to Colonsay, around Mull, calling at Tobermory and landing on Iona, and out to Tiree and Coll cost us £70 each, full board. Rather more costly today, given she's now "By Royal Appointment".

Did you use a drone for the footage? In the German naval architecture and shipping periodical HANSA some edition of 1981 you find an article with a ship description of her absolutely look alike, with same hull lines but a little smaler, also built as ASTOR by HDW, Hamburg predecessor. This article is accompanied by some technical drawings like the general arrangement plan, mid frame section, rudder details and, very unusual to be published, a full small reprint of her constructional body plan. The smaller and six years older ASTOR I was purchased by the GDR and renamed ARKONA soon after she came into service.

Please note the over the top 'health & safety' (only organised groups allowed, hard hats must be worn, hiking boots only, no bags, no camera bags, no selfie sticks, etc...). The one surprise is that the group is not all roped together! You're not allowed to take take your own time to appreciate the peace. 'Enter at your own risk' is all that visitors need to be told. It's completely put me off visiting.

I'm excited to see this and I worked on it! That's a first! I have a very good feeling about it.

Sad to see the dereliction of this once beautiful hotel. I last stayed here in December 1994.

And the Fairy Tree in it where people hang things on. I've walked around it.
