Filmmaker & Photojournalist - Documentary Photographer.
Welcome to “ImageBySteve”. My name is Stephen Kitchener (Steve) and I am passionate about all things photography and video/Filmmaking. Using the MA in Documentary Film and a previously gained BA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, I hope to bring videos that you may like.
This channel is about things that I find interesting, but alongside that, I will post videos from the local area. Recording events for the local town or those that are interested in our area. We (Tring) do have some unusual events that may not be followed in other parts of the country. You will find videos about the local area, Music and Environmental issues (When I can afford to make them)

Wassail
Wassailing in Tring. Selected Apple trees are Wassailed. Wassailing is a winter tradition that involves singing, dancing, and merrymaking to bless orchards and ensure a good harvest.
New Moon Morris is carrying on this tradition.
Orchard-visiting
In this tradition, people visit orchards to sing to the trees and encourage the spirits to ensure a good harvest. They may also offer bread and cider to the spirits and drive out evil spirits with music and gunfire. No gunfire here, just Martin Hicks and a loud horn.

A year from 2024, I have the privilege of capturing and attending some assignments and events. From Tring Spring/Summer Carnivals, Local Reenactment societies, sporting Events I have covered, local football to Trings Christmas Events, Morrismen and the Apple parade. Dusking with New Moon Morris and Armaleggan. At Pitstone Hill 2024.

Two Morris sides, New Moon Morris and Armaleggon, Dance the passing of the seasons accompanied by poems and songs. This is a "Dusking" held as the sun approaches the horizon and disappears, taking the old season with it. It welcomes a change in the season, a pause in nature, and renews for the new year to come. Nature is gathering strength for new growth.

Tring comes together again this year, with the weather playing its part, unlike last year, it was much more favorable, the sky blue blue, filled with fluffy clouds. Beer was available from our award winning Tring Brewery.
