There have been Somalis in Cardiff since the 1870s. The city has one of the longest established Somali communities in the UK. The first settlers were sailors who came here shortly after opening the Suez Canal in 1869, when Cardiff was developing as a major international seaport. Somalia is one of the oldest seafaring nations in Africa, a lot of these skilled young men came and worked on docks and ports in London, Cardiff, Sheffield and Liverpool and did a lot of work. You can’t sit here and criticise them because they are having a good time with family at the beach. This is the problem with you Europeans especially brits. You have no idea what abhorrent acts your nation and empires have done around the world, wrecking so many countries and communities, all for dominance and control. The whole UK is built on the wealth stolen from abroad. The UK has an obligation to offer migrants a safe place to stay and help them, I do agree that immigration should be controlled and foreign ethnics should be barred from taking up high ranking jobs such as governmental but come on.. you can’t record this and say they aren’t doing shit or compare that town to Somalia.. anyway my point is, Due to the UKs undeniable partaking in global dominance and empires, the things they have done in the name of power, these migrants will be coming in boats until the end of time. And you have an obligation to accommodate the few who come via the right pathway. I’m from London.. we’re multicultural and you rarely find even the English spewing these negative thoughts but it’s only when you go up north or to remote sections of the uk, where the town is very small and majority white English.. that these views come to light.. migrants have done this country good, especially during world wars, they fought wars they had no part in .. fix up
