I used to have this deck so many years ago. There were a couple of reasons why I ended up giving it away. One was the idea of cultural appropriation. I believe the author said he spent many years or most of his life living on or near Native American reservations and learned from tribal members. But, some of his stories in the book were not traditional stories, and he admitted he made the one up for the deer, which I thought was odd. Also, I did not agree with his meaning for the Rabbit card as "Fear", since rabbits are not scared all of the time, and they can symbolize more positive things like creativity, fertility, gentleness. I really loved the artwork for the cards, and overall, I thought the deck was a helpful tool for self-reflection and guidance. I had also written the author, David Carson, asking if he believed "The Great Spirit" was the same as believing in one god, and he sounded very negative in the reply to my email, acting offended as if I was questioning his beliefs! I really was just curious to understand what "Great Spirit" meant to him. This was probably 15 - 20 years ago, I can't remember exactly. Anyway, since then I have invested in other animal-themed decks, such as the ones by Dr. Steven D. Farmer and Jody Bergsma. I also just ordered a couple by Colette Baron-Reid: Wisdom of Avalon, which features 18 animal cards, and her Spirit Animal pocket-size Oracle. There are so many animal decks out there, so thankfully, there is a lot to choose from. It's unsettling that they included Styrofoam in the packaging - not eco-friendly! By the way, I love your nails - they look like Tiger's Eye gemstone. Thank you for this review. It brings back memories of just being excited about my first Oracle deck! 💙

I have this deck but I haven't used it yet. For complicated reasons I have mixed feelings about it but I haven't tried any of the spreads yet, that's super intriguing! My mixed feelings have to do with associations with specific people but I love the guilding and the guidebook from what I see here so I'm going to try to enjoy the deck. I love her other ones!

I think by democrat they mean it in the non American sense of the word - the archetype of someone who, in general terms, advocates for and supports democracy in general. Not a Democratic Party supporter/member.

I've go this deck and the card in minute 4:51 is heavily pixelated compared with the rest which are crisp and beautiful. I think I see it in your video too, have you noticed this?

That is a really interesting deck. I would definitely add that for variety when I’m in a rut and I need something different. That is what led me to search for a new deck that made me find this video today.

I like Radleigh Valentine decks, the messages are encouraging and uplifting.

The positive and negative is defined of the rune was reversed or just normal, like when someone casts a rune I always have them drop the rune midair, weather it lands face down (reverse)(negative) or right side up (normal) aka (positive) this is important when your casting so you know to warn someone of a future threat or obstacle. Just an fyi :)

I dreamt that I was an angel and I want to get this deck cause of it. I feel comfortable with this deck. I dont know how to read cards but its never late to start.

Thank you for showing this meow-some deck 😂🎉 i really adore it. This deck is so cute, precious, and funny. I really like the word play that they use on the keywords parts as it's hilarious. I do love cats, so maybe I'll get this deck someday. Another food for thought is that if the colour borders are not for aesthetic purposes, maybe the colour represents either the breed/family of cats or what theme they fell into. Like the yellow border , it reminds me of a Royalty type cats that have either 💛 are very popular or connected with famous people 😂🎉

I adore these cards, I can sense their earthy and simple energy practically through the screen, I can't wait to get these! <3 I hope to get the other decks with these creatures as well, there is another one called Into The Lonely Woods by Lucy Cavendish, which is more quiet and not exactly dreary, but somewhat, as it is made for those who are going through hard times and need some support and gentle understanding, though there are still many brighter cards in it! There is also a companion book with the Into The Lonely Woods deck, which is also beautiful and super cute. I hope to get all of these, but for now I can only afford to get this deck.
