Yes, we are most definitely still alive and kicking! Good quality rust repair work is what we mainly specialise in these days and we have just moved into a new facility to expand the restoration side of the business. There's more information on our website: www.mx5city.com It's difficult to give you an exact cost for repair without seeing your car or at least a few photos of the problem areas, but the cost is still around the same as it was 3 years ago when we posted this video.

Strictly speaking the MX-5 is not type approved for towing at all. Most people have the towbar in order to attach a cycle rack, but I have seen people use it to tow a small camping trailer.

This car has now been sold. It came to us with the conversion already done by the previous owner. I can't remember which make it was, but it was a neat and professional looking install and worked beautifully. The tank was probably around 30 litres.

They may be available for sale separately, as I have someone interested in the car today and he wants to swap the wheels for something else, so these could be available. Yes. They are hugely popular in the UK (I have one myself) because it has a sixties retro look and feel to it. Only colours available were black or green. Mazda made a similar looking UK specification model in 1991/2 called an SE or Classic, but it didn't have air-con.

+Martin Dooner Oh that's interesting. I'm looking at a 1992 black Mx5 that has all the VSpec trim but the owner assures me it's not an import. There are headrest speakers, foldable sun visors covered in Japanese and the speedo is in km/h. I'm in Ireland. Do you think that could have been one of those SE's?

+Martin Dooner also, I do believe this car doesn't have aircon either. If all the Japanese V specs had that, could well be an original Irish car.

The easiest way to check is by looking at the VIN/chassis number. If it starts NA6CE it's an import. If it starts JMZNA18 it's a UK or European spec. Either way, it doesn't make much difference as the spec is similar. It's the condition of the car that matters when buying one....

True. The only consideration is insurance. I don't know if it's the same in UK, but here there is usually a loading for imports. It's a bit of a dirty work. Stupid, but there you go. I will certainly check the VIN now anyway. Appreciate your info.
