Great Sword
Big monsters sometimes require big weapons-and they don’t come bigger than the Great Sword. Hold nothing back and attack monsters with the full fury of a larger-than-life lethal blade- a long press unleashes a powerfully charged slash. The Great Sword Special Skill, “True Charged Slash” uses all of your strength to attack monsters with an even more powerful slash that deals massive damage.
Nergigante
Nergigante is a formidable dragon-like monster covered in regenerating spikes that harden over time. Its black hide features purple and orange accents, and it has massive bull-like horns. The spikes start white and turn black as they harden, making Nergigante's attacks more damaging and its defenses tougher. Hardened spikes repel attacks and require high weapon sharpness to penetrate.
Nergigante uses its advanced forelimbs for powerful swipes and launches spikes during specific attacks, increasing their range and danger. Once all body parts have hardened spikes, it performs a devastating dive attack, breaking all spikes simultaneously.
Hunters can break its horns, front limbs, wings, and tail (which can also be severed). Breaking its spikes makes other parts easier to break but doesn't grant rewards, except for breaking the horns.
