I don't think anyone should be giving any credence to this person. Also phrases such as " guess what". Man I tell you you would be a fool to rely on anything that this dude is saying. So basically, the industries that support the community (service based) are destined to live in poverty? Aside from folks with a military preference or higher level medical personnel, civilians are on the verge of homelessness, at all times...?!! Charlotte and Fayetteville are no where close to the same types of cities; 4% difference in housing cost is absurd, despite it being the reality. No wonder Fayettenam is #12 on the list of the most dangerous cities in the nation and the #1 least safe city in the state, per capita.

Being from Lumberton, I must say the city has its disadvantages, but IMO it also has alot of room for improvement. to make itself a nicer and better place to live. Reducing the drug trade and crime, improving the quality of education in its schools, developing more parks, greenway trails and recreational activities along the Lumber River.

My son stationed in Fayetteville has never had trouble and he’s been there 14 years, though he too had a car break in, in his driveway. I seen a vidrio of a pregnant lady shot 7 times getting in her car at a gas station and it scared me. Thankfully she lived. It was most likely a sketchy area.

I want a tiny home in the country this town sounds nice

I was driving in North Carolina with my wife and toddler son and went through the drive-through at MacDonald's. We ate in the car and I got out to throw the trash away---and ten local cop cars suddenly surrounded me. I had a semiautomatic in my waistband, VISIBLE when I got out. I put the gun on the driver side floor and left the door open and moved aside. They put me up against the car and took the gun. I told them I was law enforcement and showed them my credentials and badge, but they continued to question me, saying they didn't recognize me. I wasn't local, but state, in town visiting my in-laws. They said my agency didn't issue semiautomatics; I said that was correct but we could qualify and carry with our own. They said I was carrying concealed! How did they SEE it from a distance if it was concealed? They never said. Two were pointing their guns at my toddler son. Apparently carrying openly was reasonable suspicion for a stop and frisk, even though legal. They never explained, but eventually let me go.

I don't know what it's like there today but I was stationed at Ft. Bragg for YEARS through the 90's. Crime was out of control. Everything seemed run down and trash was everywhere. I have to say, I was more than happy to leave. And now with the military gone woke, I can only imagine what it's like there now.

I like Fayetteville very much, it is not as crowded as other big cities nearby.
