I have plans to recreate a plaque that is once at the historical landmark are there can I plan on coming down with the freshly done sign and put it where the actual accident was I'm glad someone went there after all this time nobody has been to the original accident site and a very long time.

Yeah that had to be pretty embarrassing and silly to have gone by the level crossing only to find they left their cargo behind after it disconnected from locomotive NS 3517 diesel engine Oops 🤭 Probably the engineers were red with embarrassment as the other freight train passed by the scene and saw everything. They were lucky that their cargos emergency brakes activated as soon as it uncoupled otherwise the freight cars would've continued to coast down the tracks without warning then there would've been ab accident.😳

@illinoiscentralrailroadfan6015 who knows? The SD70s are very reliable locomotives, they may last for a few more decades for all we know
@@rivitedrailfan we can hope, I grew up with the Illinois Central Railroad from 84 to 05 in Bardwell and Paducah Kentucky. Got to the Illinois Central reborn and then the death in 1999. The Cairo to Fulton main line was about a quarter of a mile from my house in Bardwell (84-90). When I lived in Paducah (95-05) the south yard lead to the Edgewood cutoff was right behind my house which was about a half mile from south yard.
