มุมมอง 109หลายเดือนก่อน
Late at night I attempted to get the Twingo GT 1.2 turbo to do 0-60mph (0-102kph) in under 8 seconds - it can be done. This is a close as i could get this copy of a Twingo GT to do that still has issues. Plenty of scope for improvement.

Hello, Do you think you will be doing a video on how to change bulbs on the left side (behind the wheel) panel? Thanks!
@@Sarazzo i can certainly try :)
Tar very much
Haha!
Is it possible to keep brightness high all the time, regardless of the headlights being on/off?
Thats a bit sh*t though. I'd be so upset if it happen to my Twingo.
@@noesph1637 yeah i am upset as the yiming belt was being replaced as preventative measure against precisely this happening while i was driving. Cant do much else except sit tight and wait for the car at the end of all this.
I am glad I found this channel. The first Twwingo is my favourite car. No idea why they went to boring designs with Gen 2 and 3. I wonder how Gen 4 with the electro twingo will look like 2026 if Renault really pulls through. At the moment we only got the concept.
This little car makes most people smile; it makes a few people giggle and it even makes some people laugh . Look at the front; the headlights wink at you. Everything is pretty and cheery. I bought one in France 4 months ago ; 2002 model and it still goes like new ❤❤❤❤
Twinglets? Just found the channel. Love all 4 of them.
you are great man, nicely done
Name for a group of Twingos: happy wife, because we're home all the time restoring them ;)
BGM gasket ??
Oh yes.. junk
@@TheTwingoChanneloh no, I’ve fitted a bgm gasket last month !!!!
Awesome work 👌
Aaaaayyy, nice one! Little nugget. Enjoy!
I know what I need to do this weekend! Thanks
Nice! Picked up one of these for £600! Quite good spec just has a dent round the side and had a little fender bender on the front. Nothing I can't fix. HPI Clear too haha
Water enters through the ignition coil packing. The cause is the upper cowl top. Water leaks from the gap and falls around the spark plug. I have taken countermeasures. From Japan
Very interesting. When I plug my topscan in to my twingo it can give me live data, and one of those is the litres left in the tank.
yes I have a similar device. The ODB computer will simply take its reading from the resistor matrix on the fuel sender. i've had a car where the fuel sender got stuck due to rust. Said it had 30 litres but ran out on side of road.
How have u secured the wooden batons on top of the concrete slabs
I believe the guys drilled into the concrete uprights and then fastened them down from there.
Let us know if the new sparkplugs solved the issue completely, thanks!
Yes new coils and spark plugs sorted it all. Also resealing the scuttle and windscreen plastic cover.
Good job, thanks.
Hey Rob, I cannot send you an email at all. So, I am contacting you here, hope you don't mind! Hey mate, I just got myself a Twingo RS Gordini FL (2013). Would you happen to have any tips and tricks for these RS? Do they suffer from the same "problems" as the pre-facelift models? I appreciate any help you can provide. Looking forward to your reply, Greg
They dont look like the happy mk1 but damn they look cool
Doesn't have the same personality as the First gen Twingo but man they do look good.
The renault 1.6 16v lumps do suffer coils and need sparks at same time, if my memory serves me correct they are never 100% smooth at idle anyway. Think it is just a charactaristic of them engines. Renault scuttle issues are present on every model in their range lol.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing and contributing to the somewhat limited Twingo's data base of maintenance experiences, tricks, how to's. 👍
TWIGGA -> twiglet
I've got the same issue with cylinders 3&4. Whoever replaced the coil pack on 4 put the securing bolt in too tight and has sheared. I was a bit reluctant to to use excessive force on the spark plugs in case it did snap. But seeing as I need to get the manifold off to sort the coil pack retaining bolt I'll leave it until then.
I had same on cylinder 4 coil pack retaining bolt. I tapped it out and then installled a 10mm bolt not an 8mm.
I have also on a Twingo GT problem with Misfire it say on Cylinder 1 it blink the MIL and like in acceleration it goes like sometime empty i change also the Spark plugs like 1 to 4 and 2 to 3 and it say then to me Cylinder 4 misfire
Check your central coil pack. Different ignition setup to the 1.6 engine.
A rattle at start up can be a dephaser fault
you need to have there muffins there so nice
How did you achieve headlamps suitable for UK?
Just used special stickers to block the light from the headlights in speciifc places. Passes all safety tests.
It would make a nice little first car or a grocery getter
One of my favourite cars. Good luck with the build
Great, useful video, many thanks. One question: can the gear box oil level checked anywhere?
Just put a layer of paint on these rusty spots😂 I would love seeing you tackle the rust if possible :) Dropped you a like man
If any of the rust turns out bad and you're based anywhere near Morecambe, I'd be able to give it a quick weld for cheap if you'd like.
Channel Track project?
That's the OG rust bucket. I'm a sucker for C06 Twingos bu can't fault a nice Peugeot... which this isn't. For me a Roland Garros 205 or a 106 Rallye would make my day every time.
Oh yes. n Its is def not a good copy. badly abused, owned by a heavy smoker and literally run into the ground. I think for me its the satisfaction of bringing something back from the dead rather than the dream or ideal car. If this was a Renault 5 Turbo i'd be smashing the credit card to restore it.
@@TheTwingoChannel Yeah... same here most of the time. The good days of yore of the 400€ Twingo that you could spruce up for 500 and have a 2k car are long gone. These days a good example goes for 2-3k and then it takes at least the same to paint and bring to top notch mechanically (shock absorvers, flywheel and brakes), even if most of the work is done by ourselves (I do everything myself other than painting).
Peugeot 206!
All too brief a hello….sorry about my Jack and Pug shouting at your two little ones…. The big lurcher is too chilled for that barking nonsense!
No problem... Jack is young and learning how to interact with other dogs. Saffie on her own is great but jack set sher off a little.
Ah, you didn't spot the MK2 GT in Mayfair parking.
Was nice to meet you and the cute dogs too.
I own 7 C3G-powered Twingos and really can relate with your channel. Its just an amazing little car, isn't it?
Hi, how long does it take to get if fixed? Mine has done 125K in km's, so 80K in miles is not that far away...
about 3 hours maximum
did you have any dash warning light for bad coil?
No. Nothing at all. no engine light either.
That can ruin the engine and i am a machenic so dont do that
Check your own videos
you aint no mechanic lil bro
Spryaing water under your car to remove salit will not ruin your engine in any way shape or form. If your logic was correct then going to a mechanical car wash with under body sprayers would ruin your engine. Which they dont.
@@TheTwingoChannel I mean they scratch your paint with brushes, but underside is fine
Genius gonna try that
What brand of springs did you put in?
Spax I think..
My son has a Twingo GT, and your channel has been a great help to us. The LCD display on the dash is faulty. It works fine when started up, but as the car warms up, the display fades to virtually nothing. Any ideas what’s causing that?
'Promosm' 😠
Had my 133 for 5 years. Had a mifiring 4th coil and the 4th spark plug snap in the engine not long after i brought it. So this video was interesting. I'm guessing as i have since used it everyday the heat from the engine has prevented too much water pooling up.
gonna try this on my twingo rs soon, service light has only just started doing it, total pain lol
i do have the same problem with my twingo rs and i made myself a little engine cover out of a plastic shelf and pluged the drain hole on the plastic piece right above the hot point. it gets the job done but it definetly isnt pretty. I bought o tub of basic bathroom silicone sealer and im going to use it on it. but ill have to fight it every time ill take those pieces off...and on a cup chassis its pretty often...she eats suspension parts every year
another problem that is in this category is that the wings are open at the top and she just collects leaves and other stuff...for someone that keeps their twingo outside, we have to take these plastic panels off at least once a year to prevent rust
this, for me, is the absolute opposite of fun maintenance but at least i dont have to take the engine out every spark plug change or smt. i love this car and ill build thru every problem. im building a garage, ill do all the maintenance...cuz is such a lovely car
