A countless number of idols rose to stardom during this period of time.
What awaited them was the fierce battles, amongst their powerful rivals.
There were a few who survived, and keep shining on, and others just perished like shooting stars.
Nevertheless, nothing is more fascinating than that sound of the many "one hit wonders" from this time.
This channel was created to shine a spotlight on those 1980's idols who seemingly have vanished.

it suprises me how short her initial Idol career was. She debut in late 1987 and by the end of the decade, she was already out of the lime light. She would help form a super group of what I believe was former Idols in the mid 90s and was active till the mid 2010s but she really had a great style and a great voice with some of the most memorable songs from the late 80s in Japan. Just goes to show you just how strong the talent pool was at that time for even someone as good as Chieri Ito to drop off quickly.

Ive been a fan of idols since I was 12 and I am an American and really only see idols from being online so take what I say with a grain of salt but I’ve become not too big of a fan for the idols of today. For some reason the 80s just seemed more.. authentic? A hint of nostalgia Ive never lived? Real and embraced more natural singing and looks? Im not sure but I wish the idols of today could embrace elements of both this era and modern day!
They look so pure and innocent, unlike today's idols and K-pop idols. That's one of why I like them.I'm so glad to share the nostalgic vibes with you.
