By the looks of it, the scenes were filmed at Cal Oaks Pharmacy at California/Raymond in Pasadena. The doctor is standing outside one of the outpatient offices at Fair Oaks/Congress probably.

Unlike alot of the problems featured on this show which are more upper class problems of the rich the doctor v pharmacist issue is one many can relate to because pharmacists often substitute one brand for another if one has run out or another is cheaper etc.

In reality you should do your own research after talking with both If a doctor specializes in what hes prescribing then he should know more (such as cancer meds)

Both are overrated in the modern world. Pharmacists aren’t in the back mixing up cocktails, they are just counting pills. Your doctor is on google

The pharmacist knows way more than the Doctor does. It is the pharmacist life to know. The doctor just prescribed what little they know👍

Trust the pharmacist before the doctor with medications

Dangerous situation. The pharmacist has no idea of patient history, such as allergies, renal and hepatic function, other drug contraindications, possible chronic infections, etc.

While i enjoyed this, you should have put the situation in context. Unless one has seen the show, one can’t possibly understand why Larry switched.

Both probably have a profit motive for offering one or the other. Ahhhhh, the american healthcare system!

After watching these clips, I just picture how hilarious George would have been in these situations. I’m confident that Seinfeld could have gone on for so many more seasons 😂

I have a doctor. I have a pharmacist. But only one knows my medical history, and WHY I'm being prescribed something. We're not knocking pharmacists, but they have no clue what factors there were for our doctor picking a certain medication.

It was fun until the last dialogue. That did not make any sense 🤔

Reminds me of a later episode when Larry finds out his divorce lawyer was pretending to be Jewish to get clients. I don't know what happened in this episode, but in that one Larry made the wrong decision lol

Gotta love how the doctor has a prescription pad in his pocket and does door stop consultations.

Many of the drugs pushed are the ones you will take for life. That can be 20-40 years of money coming from just one person. So one changed prescription can amount to a lot.

What's funny about this is the simple fact that that man looks nothing like a "cofey".

What's silly about this scenario is the pharmacist knows nothing about the ailments of the patient which could prove to be deadly with wrong meds.

These day it would have been doctor-pharmacist-smartphone. No longer a medical dilemma, more like a medical Mexican standoff.

Larry’s superficial judgmentality is a running gag: 1) Cofey, the pharmacist who doesn’t respect wood; 2) Berg, the disingenuous not-Jewish lawyer; 3) the untrustworthy accountant with a disproportionately attractive wife; 4) the inventor of integrity with a disproportionately homely wife; 5) the unworthy optometrist who wouldn’t pick up a pirates booty off the floor; and more.

Cofey looks like quite the skinny latte.
