มุมมอง 15K17 ปีที่แล้ว
This electric locomotive was designed and built in Austria and she was to become the most widely used electric locomotive on the OBB's network. In 1974 the first of this series rolled out of the Linz works on the Danube. The 1044 soon replaced the Co-Co locomotives then in use as they were too punishing for the OBB's tracks 20 years later the Bo-Bo 1044 had become the ubiquitous Austrian electr...

With slightly over 100km / h maximum speed it was considered the Monarchy's fastest means of locomotion in 1911. This clip is from the first CD of a trilogy which shows the history of the 310.23 with histori...

Awesome, truly an idea for me and my marklin layout. Thank you sir
Lovely footage - and possibly Bob Symes coining the phrase ‘Virtual Reality’ at about 2’50”
Alles was Bob Symes macht finde Ich toll.
This Short Film of The Isle of Man Has Bob Symes speaking not in English but Max or Greek Language
Beautiful modelling spoilt by rotten sound editing (pity)
Dave Cooper The sound editing is fine. The mixing may be a little off, but there is nothing wrong with the editing.
Bob Symes was the son of an Austrian Count (Baron Schutzmann von Schutzmanndorf). Bob fled the Nazi's (who'd murdered his father) and came to Britain to fight with the British Royal Navy. Post War he became a TV presenter of railway orientated films as seen here. Around 1991 I found Bob fast asleep on the platform at Waterloo. Being the Driver of the last train to his home station, I ushered him into my Drivers cab. He only came too as we trundled out of Waterloo, with the exclamation "Oh I'm in the cab of a train, I hope I'm not the Driver!" At which point I turned the cab lights on for a moment, so he could see who his chauffeur was ! I deposited him safely at his home station around midnight, by which time he had very kindly given me his business card and invited me to his house. (Bob had a large Gauge 1 garden layout at that time). An exceedingly interesting and very well travelled person, with a worldwide knowledge of railways. Sadly he passed away in January 2015 RIP.

What a great story.
in the series "Model Magic" Bob visits the pendon museum, the film is accompanied by a piece of music on the harp, I would like to find out what this piece is called. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help much appreciated.
Have you tried using Shazam?
He really made the most of that 2 1\2 meter track!
That's a very, very nice modelrailway with many very goog buildings an scenes from life, near the railway.Very good thing!
Miss you Bob.
A fantastic video and presentation of a beautiful layout but I do wish that TH-cam could do a little sound engineering to the volume levelling of this video. Not too much to ask for in this day and age.
Shame it's not available in a higher resolution as it's a brilliant layout and it would enhance the intricate detailing.
+Terrys Chocolate orange Perhaps low resolution is a trick to encourage you to visit the museum?
Focal depth by TV cameras of small model trains presents problems ! PENDON is well known to professional modellers as the most refined and finest public exhibition layout in the World ! EVERYTHING is hand made; track, locomotives, carriages, wagons, signals, scenery and of course buildings. They've been building all this for almost 70 YEARS.
RIP Bob. You were an inspiration.
More uploads please
Utterly superb...thank you so much Mr Symes.

You need to upload making tracks bob. I loved watching it when i were a kid. I can't find anywhere to buy it anymore.
