Handmade and Thrifted Clothing Only! Creating Outfits for Fall and Winter
Hmmm, mad scientist? Who's the bad guy from phineas and furb? Dr somebody! 🤔
Good guess! Haha think more Cartoon Network from the early 2000s
Dexter? 🤔 *From Dexter's laboratory not Dexter the serial killer 🤣
Super cute and nice and simple! I am also constantly making preventable mistakes 😅 Does this fabric need the neckline and the ends of the sleeves to be finished to prevent fraying?
No. I find that most stretch fabrics (that are small tightly woven like Lycra or spandex) don’t fray even after washing. You can turn the hem under or add a piece of elastic to do a double turned hem to prevent stretching it out but with such a light fabric I don’t have any fear.
Oh I love both!! Are the sleeves just rectangles as well? Sorry if I missed that in the video
Yes! super simple just a few rectangles
I need to see the end result! It’s super cute!!
For me, its the black one. Oddly the sleeves look wider on camera, even though you said you'd made the sleeves wider on the white one. Thanks for your energy!
Great work! It must've taken so much effort!
Haha It did, but I think it’s worth it. Just dreading tomorrow when I have to do a full pair of shorts haha 💀
Nice space 😊
Such a cute top ❤
Thank you :)
These are so cute. I think I like the black one the best. I can so relate to making the same mistake multiple times. Very frustrating but your end result is absolutely beautiful ❤
Thank you :)
Hi there. I like the black one best but the white one will be great in the warmer weather. How did you Finnish the neckline and the hem? Or did you leave it just cut?
Because the mesh doesn’t fray I just left all the edges clean cut. If you want them finished you could turn them under with hems or add a facing to the neckline
Пиппи-ДлинныйЧулок😅😅🎉
WHY IS IT SO PRETTY BUT WHEN I TRY IT I LOOK LIKE A NUGGET😭
What a gorgeous and creative upcycle! I love it!
The little empress on her rolling throne is quite adorable.
She loves sitting on my chairs to a point where I have to look before I sit down at my sewing table
@ she wants to sew with you! ;p
@RobinWeste she just loves being involved
Nice job! This is the cutest costume ever!
Honestly, this is absolutely adorably amazing 😍😍😍
this rocks! keep up the good work
I am so sorry, but it's looking great!
ahah great video
This is really cute!
I love the stuffing for the ears! 🤣
Had so much fur left over I felt like I just had to haha
Love! What an amazing idea! Thank you for sharing
If you use a blade (exacto or box cutter) you can carefully cut the back of the fabric and you won't get so much fur loss - speaking from experience 😅
Definitely will need to try this in the future👍
Hi Brooke! Just came across your videos, and loved the vibe immediately!! Then you mentioned Algonquin park and it made sense... a fellow Canadian, am I right?! Maybe I'm wrong, but I tend to be drawn to Canadian content, especially crafty thrifty stuff! You're inspiring me to finally attack my pile of projects and ideas! Also to watch that Fantastic Fox movie! 🇨🇦 ❤🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Hello fellow Canadian :) so glad you like my videos. Perfect fall movie to watch (going to watch it later this week hopefully) glad I could inspire you to attack that pile ❤️
Ah! So cute! Brilliant.
Just finished the declutter video! Your space is gorgeous! I am getting SO much inspo for my office :))
I really loved how the dresses turned out, particularly the water one. How do you enjoy making clothes for yourself compared to commissions for other people?
Also I noticed you used a different type of scissors when cutting the mesh and lycra yardage .You can say I am quite a beginner. I have only worked with stretch fabric once before and I have no idea what the use of that pair of scissors is. So please let me know.
I’ll show them all in a future vlog 👍thanks for the question
Very exited for the vlogs
With each outfit you appear in I was like "that's her color", "No, that is her color", and "THAT is definitely her color". Maybe you just look great in everything hahaha. Is the green blouse a light cotton fabric? I will definitely be trying to make it soon.
Haha thanks :) it’s a mid weight cotton bedsheet. Not too heavy but not too limp
Ich wünschte ich hätte so ein Talent ❤
I’m shocked the jumpsuit worked! I’ve never been able to get bleached fabric to dye right afterwards. What dye are you using?
“I’m not looking at these others because then I’ll have too many projects and never get to any of them” …..that’s me right now. I’m watching TH-cam Thrift Flips instead of actually busting my stash lol
I am knitting the cloud sweater and I don’t understand the section that starts with the left shoulder. I can’t wrap my head around it.
Very nice video
Because for the last time I make, not mend 😂🎉
Thank for the so important remarks on the importance of goung on when we make mistake. And a good pat to your kitty!
Wow that turned out really great! I'm really enjoying your channel ! By the way, just a side note about the Dutch pronunciation of the words 😊: Piet = just pronounced as "Pete" is in English Stijl = just pronounced as "Style" is in English ('ij' in Dutch is pronounced similar to "aye" ) Hope that makes sense~~! ❤
Thanks for the help:) I think I was trying to pronounce it in French since that’s the only second language that I learnt in school haha my mistake
If the sleeves on the green shirt are too short, how about trying a little ribben insertion (also a la Bernadette Banner). It would add interest, since you clearly love details, and the sleeves don't look that short. Love all these projects. Thanks.
That’s a good idea. The sleeves may not look short but I’ve got long arms and they are a little tight when I lift my arms. Might take off the cuffs piece together another strip to elongate the sleeves but I do like the ribbon idea 👍
I'm glad you shared the slightly dissapointing projects as well. I'm working on a granny square sweater that slowly made over an year and I liked a lot when they were just squares, but am starting to hate the look of as I'm putting it together. I was feeling very discouraged to continue so it made me happy that I'm not alone in not liking the end result of a project you put a lot of time into
It’s so discouraging to get to a point in a project when that happens but I’m not one to quit so even if I don’t like it I try to finish because sometimes I will surprise myself and it will turn out better. When I made my granny square vest I had a hard time getting over the hump of putting it all together but I’m glad I finished it. Even if I didn’t like the end result I like knowing that it’s not sitting half done in a bag for another year like mine was before is a better feeling to me
Love the tops .When will you post the video on the bag you made for your son?
Unfortunately I didn’t have time to make a full tutorial step by step video on the back pack process. Do you mean the green one I made two years ago or the blue one I made this past month?
The bag you made last month and it's not a problem if you didn't make a tutorial I was just curious
I often feel a little disappointment when I finish sewing a garment and there's something not quite right about it so I really appreciate you being open about that too! I think all three tops turned out great though and my favorite was actually the red gingham one!
Thanks it’s starting to grow on me. I think that because I don’t wear peplum tops anymore it was a bit of a disappointment but I think the neckline turned out really good 👍
What a good job you did, I especially love the gingham top; I wasn’t sure you would have enough material…❤❤Judy❤❤
I love the green poet top! Now I’ve gotta keep my eyes open for a sheet like that… ;)
Gohjus flips. You are INSPIRING! Keep it up :)
Thank you :)
I think the lighting looks good!
I would actually really love a video about mending kid clothes to get more wear out of them. ❤
Haha that might just be the motivation I need to do it haha
Does youtube add that silly music or you
Magnificent!😊🎉❤
