Driving in the winter can be challenging even if you have the right vehicle and do everything correctly. Lesson learn, could have been worst but after everything, the total damage came out to $1,800. parts alone, i’ll install everything on my ow...

I’d try to reach out to the Yota Expedition guys on that switch, they are good guys and I would hope can help you on the wiring layout. Your rig is looking so sick! I’m planning to do much of the same things to mine.
4Runner is looking good and coming together keep it up!
@@ROKstarz99 thank you! keep grinding and keep building.
My local shop would of installed it for $100 bucks. I would rather pay 100 than be out in the blistering cold struggling removing a bumper and breaking the last place holder for the clip on the bumper. I’d be pissed off at 4runner lifestyle!
@@WinterBonus we did consider taking it to the shop but they were so booked up. but i want to gain experience as well. but it’s true it was way too cold to be out there!
Looks good brother… do the tires rub at full flex?
@@wassupdude12345 yes. somehow it does rub! most people doesn’t have rubbing problems but mine did rub. i plan on taking off the mud flaps
Nice
@@RyanElkaakati-h4d thanks. 🙏
I have the same wheels and tires mine doesn’t rub in the front but I removed the mud flaps and did bmc “not necessary” cause you have the stock wheels but you can if you want to change your wheels in the future with negative offset wheels
@@stickfiggas22 I’m thinking of removing the mud flaps as well. I don’t know. nothing ever goes right in my life. but will the negative offset help with the rubbing?
Looks great!
Thank you!
Big change! 🔥🔥
just need more more change to make it all black.
This is interesting I threw 285's on my 4runner with the stock trd pro wheels and they didn't rub and then installed a set of method wheels and still didn't rub? My lift isn't even a 3" lift it's 2.5 OME BP51'S? Maybe my UCA'S helped? My tires are also the KO3'S too
@@stephencarbajal5657 i was told by the mechanics that installed my OME Nitrocharge 3” lift that it would not rub. i did so much research too that says it will not rub. it does rub. It still rub the mud guard and i also bought the OME Upper Control Arms as well. so i dont know what went wrong. But your lift is better set up than my setup. it’s BP51. that’s the elite version.
@moozylivingstone yea that's very strange because same tires and probably the same offset? Actually my offset is 0 but fprsure i have 0 rub I've had the suspension and tires for about 12,000 miles and its good. Also the KO3's are pretty good just ran them thru snow and ice they performed pretty id say my Ko2 did alittle better in the snow but those were 35's so maybe that's the reason. Fyi black on black looks good I have the midnight black pro on black methods!
Great to hear you have some new tires on the truck, looks good!
Thank you.
We are glad both of you are safe and only minor damage happened. Keep on traveling!
thank you. will keep on adventuring for sure.
Awesome accessories! Be sure to do a followup on the K03s in a few months. I went with Falken Wildpeaks AT4s
@@camp168 i keep going back and forth with K03 and AT4s. maybe my next set of tires i’ll try out the Fallen Wildpeaks.
Nice work! No garage to work on the 4runner?
@@itsaboutfam no. sadly not. i do have a garage in the back but my 4runner is too high.
@moozylivingstone oh man...that sucks. It's tough working on your vehicle outside especially when it's raining or snowing or any bad weather. At least you pushed through and got it fixed.👍
Gotta get yourself a switch panel, looks amazing man, then you can wire all your lights in one box under your hood and have a multi switch panel, I use the aux beam on my jeep
@@ryancarpenter1678 haven’t done much research on switch panel. i’ll check it out. thank you!
That looks insanely hot!
@@BomiHappyBelly it’s getting there.
Hey, that sucks you crashed your truck but in the end what is important is everyone was safe. The truck can be fixed. There are some key takeaways here. Since you live in an area with snow, I would swap out those stock tires for something better suited for the snow and ice. The stock dunlops aren't great for much.
@@weecho27 For sure. i just got a new set of tires. but this time when it’s snowing or the road conditions is bad i’ll drive my vehicle in 4wheel. and avoid the shoulder area.

When I first bought my fault on her I had highway tires on there and I did a lot of slipping how did Donna Hill in the Poconos when I was sliding so much and so often in my hilly driveway even for a drive I finally then cover those tires and got aggressive tires. They made a world of difference
glad your safe tho!
just an idea, bake the lens off the aftermarket headlights and replace the lens on the oem one with it. This way you still basically have oem headlights. Incase you have to pay for shipping on returns and having to buy a new/used more expensive oem headlight this might be an alternative solution
Not a bad idea, but i wouldn’t trust myself doing that. i already send it back.
That’s annoying
Aww
it is very annoying for the parts not to fit in properly.
That’s sucks man
crashing the car was bad. traumatized. but buying parts and they don’t fit properly sucks so much too!
@@moozylivingstone I know bro and I understand the feeling.. I had this happened to me before, I actually got depressed and went and traded it in for an off road I had a sr5.. so I totally understand.. make sure all your parts OEM so they can fit. Best of luck buddy
@@MRNagiii thank you.
Perioddddddddddddd
Ewwwwwwwww
I've only owned two 4x4s my Nissan and now my 2020 Venture Edition 4Runner. Thank you, this video just reminded me to use my four-wheel drive in the snow. Key points to remember: Only use 4WD when needed: Engage four-wheel drive only when driving on slippery surfaces like snow or ice, or when off-roading. Can damage your vehicle: Driving in 4WD on dry roads can put extra wear and tear on your car's drivetrain, potentially leading to mechanical issues. Fuel efficiency impact: Using 4WD unnecessarily can also decrease your vehicle's fuel economy. P.S. Someone made a really good suggestion in the comments. Instead of just repairing your bumper you can use this incident as an opportunity to get yourself a steel winch bumper. I would also add to find yourself some good recovery gear.
Hey there, i would love to get a steel bumper. but as you may know, those things are expensive and maybe i might not know how to install it myself. i really like those CBI bumpers. but maybe in the future. thanks!
How many inches you used for the drawer slides?
it was 6 1/2.
I can not stand the names 😂 Bomi & Jennifer
@@JuruBee okay chihuahua
aaaaah, so sorry,
AAA is $100 per year
@@overworked30 😂 i actually have triple A for 6 years i never have to use it so i cancelled my membership
You're still probably going too fast afterwards.
@@GMJM23 yep that’s why bomi told me i was driving too fast.
1.Not all 4WD are created equal!Educate yourself about differences between 4WD w locked center diff/ part time transfer in4WD and 4WD Full time or open center diff. 2.For the winter put Michelin X Ice tires 3.On paved road in icy conditions always drive slower with unlocked center diff and in situation like yours put your right wheels over the shoulder as usually there is rough surface and is most of the sand/salt/small stones pushed by the traffic.Otherwise, the hard connection between both axles on slippery road and higher speed will need a small turn of the steering to put you in a spin and out of the road. 4.Keep the locked center/part time transfer in 4WD for off-road use.
wow that is actually very helpful! thank you! i have so much to learn about differential and my vehicle.
I’m actually doing research right now on center differential. thank you for your helpful tips!
You shouldn’t let other traffic put you in a bad situation like that. It’s better to hit another car than go into a tree or the ground.
It probably didn't help that you were recording while you were driving.
@@JohnnyWhytetrash that is true.
Time for a new steel bumper and headlight upgrade!!! Glad you’re okay
@@PinkGabe909 I would love a steel bumper but can’t afford it at this time. new headlights, yes.
Thats just windshield wiper fluid leaking, and if you had better tires I bet you could have just backed up outta there bro. ;)
Some says i could air down and back it up 😅
Good opportunity to get a nice front bumper upgrade. Also if i lived in an area that got this much snow, id buy dedicated winters.
i would love an upgrade front bumper. but they quit expensive so i’m keeping it oem. I might get snow tires tho but some year it snow a lot, some not so much. this might be the only snow storm we get. 34 inches of snow fall in 2 days.
Nice. Does the 4Runner not have a full width steel front bumper underneath all the plastic? Tires means nothing on ice, just like a 4wd drive truck means nothing on ice. Keep your expectations reasonable on a stock tires stock truck and youll be fine. That idiot who passed you on the way home is going to be the next one in a ditch.
no, the 4Runner doesn’t have full width. only cover the center section. that is true. haha he actually got pull over by the cops, maybe 10 minutes later.
Nice camping spot.... especially next to a lake!
@@itsaboutfam it sure is. it is my favorite camping spot. for all 4 seasons
Dang man that must have been nerve racking. Glad you guys are ok and the damage seems to be just cosmetic.
@@itsaboutfam It really was!! we never experienced something like this before. still having nightmares after 2 days. i can’t imagine those people who are in serious car accidents.
@moozylivingstone It's traumatizing stuff. My wife was involved in a pretty bad one years ago and still to this day she has PTSD on certain scenarios on the road.
@@itsaboutfamoh my gosh! so sorry to hear that!
Get an alignment also
definitely! will do.
What tires were you running? Pretty much all the current gen of AT tires are triple peak, all weather tires. It's an expensive lesson, but even if you had been in 4WD, with the wrong tires, you could've still been in a bad way. At the end of the day though, it's just money... you and your loved ones are safe, that's all that matters
that is very true. our lives are more important than the material things. but yes, an expensive lesson. with the cost to replace the bumper, headlights and fog light, it would cost me the same to get a new set of tires. Yes so my currently tires right now are stocked with 34k miles on it.
I have a 22 TRD OffRoad & I would be absolutely 🤢🤮
that’s how i felt! been about 2 days now. still having nightmares! what kind of tires do you have on your 4runner?
The stock Dunlop Grandtrek AT20
@@Valco458 hey that’s what i have on as well.
Glad youre ok. You should atleast get good all season tires. If you drive on dirt roads you should get all terrain tires. It doesnt matter what vehicle you drive, in bad weather, your tires are what gives any vehicle traction or no traction in this case. Glad you're ok!
Thanks for the advice! i am definitely getting new tires after this experience. But i have to get the bumper and the headlight fix first. I’m thinking of getting BFGoodrich KO3. Still not sure yet, there are a lot of tires options on the market.
So no dash cam footage
no, sorry. no dash cam footage.
Hey… fyi, you’re not supposed to park there.
Only the best knows how to park like this! 😢😅
Glad you're OK!
thank you! could have been worst.
Next time be careful ❤
thank you
Oh No
i know 😢
I've gotta say the fact that the pedals and sidepeaces are not cleaned well/at all is bad, kinda triggers me. (All in all looking good)
winter in UpState NY is kind of harsh at the moment. haven’t clean the interior of the vehicle since the start of winter.. definitely will clean them in spring, but as soon as i clean it, i get it dirty from camping or raining day. haha
