There's nothing that religion can so devastatingly ruin that Jesus cannot fix and restore. The restoration can start now, but won't be complete until he comes again. The sun itself isn’t light, it’s a source of light. Light is a form of energy that makes it possible to see things. When God said “let there be light” He created energy. And God separated that energy from darkness. That energy is what God used to give life to the plants before the sun was created as plants use photosynthesis from Light energy. You miss on so many things so you have no idea, yes the ten commandments is absolute but no, it´s not like you can´t be forgiven for it if you break any of them, Moses killed an egyptian as he defended one of his own people and i beileve they all did as they were claiming their promised land. So one can think "but that´s not fair to the ones being there first and that´s breaking God´s law when doing so?". What about those poor souls right to live and be there then, yeah true. But am i the truth, the way and the salvation of others since i can´t come up with an answer to just that? Religion doesn't ruin people's lives. People do. You have to accept the abuses that religion doles out before they can harm you. Step one is to claim your own power and own it. It's true of everything, not just religion. There are owners and victims, and we choose which one we're going to be.

I was raised Christian and from 7 or 8 years old I was very aware of how none of it made sense, no one should even be looking at the Old Testament that what apparently Jesus came to put righ as it was used for harm rather than good, the New Testament was to replace the old. Later I found out how little evidence there was for any of it apart from someone called Jesus existing, no mention anywhere of him being the son of god until 100-200 years later and that from third hand sources at best, it is sadly all a lie in every direction but then that is all religions in factual terms. I’m good because I am good no religion made me good they tend to have the opposite effect across the board. Just be kind and if there is you’ll be ok anyway and if there isn’t you made a difference to others, no books of lies needed to instruct us how to be decent.

I worked and saved most of the money I earned for more than 30 years. I saved a considerable amount, never buying anything for myself. I can buy any car on the market, but I have no car at all. When I was younger I had a car, I paid $300 cash for it. I lived in a very small inexpensive house in a low rent neighborhood, although I could purchase almost any house in my home town. I'll be 69 in a few days, I still buy all my clothing at a used clothing store, such as the Salvation Army, despite that I could buy a wardrobe of nice clothing any time I choose to. In the decades since I built a good savings, I've yet to spend any of it on myself for 'nice things'. I hope to die penniless; I don't want to leave my children any money. I fear it will harm them in some way. As I said before, I'm ready to go, If God's will includes my death on this night, I'm ready.

They were passing around huge white buckets for people to put their money into. I went home and decided to study that KJV and read the entire book. I critically examined the history of the bible and of religion. I went to Catholic school, but later was non-denominational. Religion and superstition is a waste of life and time. I read what our forefathers had written about the subject, since many were Deists. Age of Reason by Thomas Paine was excellent. Dan Barker's book Losing Faith in Faith was one of the first books, but I ended up with quite a library. C. Dennis McKinsey had excellent information. I loved Robert G. Ingersoll's works! There were so many great resources. Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and Daniel Dennett are great. Even if a person just wants to critically examine religion there is The Thinking Atheist and others on social media.

Einstein said that religiousness has three levels: the first is magic, you paint an animal on the wall to get lucky hunting the animal. The second level is the sociological, the congregation is more important than the individual. You have hierarchies, money is collected and so on. The third level is the individuals search for a faith, sometimes completely on his own, sometimes learning from a ”guru” of some sort. The damage he speaks about comes from the second level not the other two.

I was molested by a pastor at 12 years old. When the word got out I was slut shamed by the entire church. People saw me as evil. My parents did nothing. I was in and out of mental hospitala and put on psych meds most of my teen years because of the denial my parents had on what happened to me. I remember being suicidal because of the amount of hate towards me from that church. Now, I associate any organized religion as evil.
