The Original Willment Escort Twin-Cam
What a special car this is! Part of the incredible John Willment Ford fleet, this was the first Willment Escort Twin-Cam. Mike Crabtree raced the car in the British Saloon Car Championship before it went to New Zealand, to be driven by Jim Richards. This cars story is amazing!

Old Blue Datsun 1200 Restoration - Part 8
มุมมอง 377หลายเดือนก่อน
I honestly can't think of any reason why you'd actually watch this one. Basically, I remove some old paint from a striker plate and show you some wiring that looks like a vipers nest. But I make it all appear a little bit interesting by dubbing some music over the top.
The Long Lost DTV Viva GT

This is a bit special! This is one of two factory Vauxhall Viva GTs that became part of Dealer Team Vauxhall. The brainchild of Bill Blydenstein, and driven by the great Gerry Marshall, these cars contested both the British Saloon Car Championship and the B.A.R.C. Osram Special Saloon Championship. Two were built, but only one survives

Grimie's Historic MkI Escort
มุมมอง 1.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
This incredible MkI Escort has race history dating back to the mid-1970s, and was owned by the same person, Rod Grimwood, for nearly 40 years! In addition, Robert van Gisbergen, father of current NASCAR driver and former V8 Supercar driver Shane van Gisbergen was also an owner. This car is an amazing time-warp, having sat in storage for 30 years, but is now back on the track, cutting laps. Than...

This mega-machine is a genuine Zakspeed Ford Escort, as raced in the German DRM. It began life as a Zakspeed Group 2 car in 1975 before being rebuilt to Group 5 regs for 1977. It is a rare beast! And really special. And crazy! The DRM produced some epic machinery, and this is a real-deal survivor. T/G Racing was headed by 'Mr Trans-Am' Jerry Titus, and Canadian businessman Terry Godsall, and was the factory Pontiac team in the SCCA Trans-Am series, beginning in 1969. T/G Racing built approx six Firebird Trans-Ams for the 1969 season, and this car is the only known survivor, having gone to New Zealand in 1971 where it enjoyed a hugely successful racing career down-under.

Le Mans Movie - Musical Scene

Steve McQueen's Le Mans movie was one that placed racing accuracy above dialogue, and reviews from non-racing viewers were mixed. But the racing scenes themselves were ground-breaking. And more-so, adding music to further dramatize the racing action, and mixing music with raucous 12-cylinder sports prototypes of the era was pure genius. Once you watch this scene, the music stays in your head fo...

I like the big trees that run the length of the track. What were they for….emergency braking? The 1960’s drivers had more courage than any driver racing today. And they made a lot less money.

My fathers best mate was Brian. Nightingale a Bathurst car racing legend. He drove a RX 7 with Tony Mulvihill and had a famous self dig out, kick the car door in the sand pit moment in I think 1984 or 85. A large man he was great fun to be with me and my brother were 8 amd 9 years old. “ NIGHTO “ was very close with Peter. Rock, we used to sneak in at Oran Park and get kicked out of a Rocky’s tent I remember meeting Alan Grice on a cold Bathurst winter mornings at Bernard’s Bakery in Bathurst. At primary school you would hear all the cars, practice all week. The best memories no phones , BMX’s , swimming in the river and enjoying Ife. Go Bathurst . My father was Colin ( Col ) Preston

Note the details, like the real 917Ks actually did use key start ignition rather than an ignition switch and a push start button. And yes the Porsche Salzburg 917 Langheck was faster on the Mulsanne than the Gulf Porsche 917 Kurz. "What do you think of Michael Delaney?" hey the car looks amazing, I'm following the restoration since the beginning and it's nice to see progress ! 167hp seems like a lot especially at the wheels. During the heyday in japan they achieved 170bhp on mechanical injection and a12a block, and they were turning to 10000rpm. I reckon you have a a12a block aswell ? Congrats for the F5c56a, not easy to find nowadays...

It was Brock's sixth victory, a record, the Holden Dealer Team's sixth win and the first win in the race for a car carrying a Racecam unit. Holden Commodores filled the top four positions, but only after Dick Johnson was disqualified after originally finishing in fourth spot. Brock and Perkins finished a lap ahead of Allan Grice and Alan Browne. It was the second time Grice had finished second but had yet to win.
