New project ! 👍👍
Yes Sir
Camper STILL looking GREAT !!! 👍👍
Thank you sir
@@slyexpeditions6579 YOU have inspired me ! 👍👍
What a memorable experience with your folks! I love the night sky time lapse.
muy bueno !! . .
What are the dimensions?
Awesome!! How did you connect the plywood sheets end to end? Pocket screws?
Pocket screwed, biscuit jointer and wood glue
What camping spot was at 3:00?
How can I get a blueprint for this camper
Shawnee hills is the designer
I was looking for Shawnee plans but they don’t sell them any longer. I am a single father of two boys and looking to build his design. Could you please help?
shwoffroad.com/product/off-road-overland-camper-plans/ here to go.
Very nice! How heavy is your Camper?
2500-3000 I believe
Great video: hey what song is that in the beginning of the video? Jose from Albuquerque
I believe its Cletus Got Shot
I want to do something like this except make it a slide in truck camper
What are the interior dimensions wall to wall ? And floor to ceiling ?Fantastic job , better than factory !
Any other videos on the camper coming? Also what was leaking in this one?
I drained my water tank after using the shower. I have a new born so no camping in immediate future.
@@slyexpeditions6579 congrats!
@@johnnixon2862 thanks!
hello. How thick is the plywood you work with?
3/4 marine grade
@@slyexpeditions6579 I'm sorry, I don't understand the size. I'm from Europe, centimeters or inches. Thank you
@@nicolaeiovan3111 3/4 inch marine is treated for water and usually a higher ply count. I can't recall but I think this is 7 ply
I'm going to build an 8 ft camper for my truck. This is the first video I came across that is a similar design. Good job!!
Thank you!
what psi did you air down to on that ram rebel?
I believe it was low 20s
I'm going to read through the comments but i was wondering how much Raptor Liner you went thru for the paint job. I was thinking of just using a rock guard on the bottom and painting with a aliphatic paint over the fiberglass. The raptor seems pricey > thoughts??
I went thru toooooo much. It was several hundred dollars if not more if i recall.
Also how many cans was the 4 gallons, Sounds like alot. I might have to try the other way. I love that everyone is using this system but i am trying my hardest to finish the camper for under 1500 and its going to be close.
@@slyexpeditions6579 yikrs. A gallon of aliphatic it is .. lol thanks for the feed back. I bet it costs more now
I’ve been wanting to build a teardrop for a long time now. I’m rather torn on a more military look shape like you went with or a more traditional curvy shape. Also trying to do my homework And do the best to my ability to make it off grid worthy and be able to stay in or for long periods of time even in a snowy winter. Subscribed
I found the curve shape daunting and beyond my skill. That's why i went with the military look as you says :). Plus it suits my style more.
@@slyexpeditions6579 I’d like the traditional shape because I like how the interior is less boxy but the rear galley hatch is what has me thinking otherwise. Hard to grasp my head around making something like that water tight. The military style has alot more off-road capabilities. Rear hatch seems more doable as well but the boxyness of the interior i feel as if it would feel less cozy. Totally just personal right there. Would you have done anything different?
@@jagerpowell453 the bed frame I think I will redo it's hard to get in and out. Everything else I'm very happy with.
@@slyexpeditions6579 able to just go with frameless?
@@jagerpowell453 Its my drawer were i store everything. also the bed is bigger then the internal fenders.
I love the box but the water tank placement concerns me.
Big bend is my all time favorite place in this world
Diggin the yellow fender looks like my pint x !
What’s the skin ?
Rhinoliner
Do you ever take that thing off any sweet jumps? I want to see you olie that thing over a mountain lion🐅
No jumps when I got tater tots in my pocket.
Hi, what's the name of the second and the third camp site?
Can't wait till we get to this point in our build. Well done
Any way to connect with you DM?
Crap i thought you were going to work on it not just talk . More content less talk = more viewers . Looks like you're doing a pretty good job though ..
This me addressimg others questions feel free to watch the other build videos...
Very nice build and very honest I am border line from buying the Shawnee hills drawings but like yours I am not planing to do the pop up. Would you still recommend buying them anyways?
Depends on your skill level. For me they were absolutely needed because I was clueless. You get access to the Facebook community they are great and you see everyone's variations and how they did it.
@@slyexpeditions6579 thank you I am getting them then… :)
I'm not sure if I missed it but what are the trailer dimensions again?
Taco man with the game plan was my favorite. I appreciate a good prepped and planned meal. Also cooking is better than cleaning.
😅🤣
What type of camera trickery do you possess? Take me to your leader.
🤘🤘🤘
Cool!
This is very cool! Is there a video how you built this? What kind of frame did you use?
I used the Shawnee Hills design.
Nice video! I am looking to build the same type of camper just a little bigger. I have a family of 4 so I am thinking a queen or full on one end and two bunks on the other. I might end up just throwing a rooftop tent on it so you can have the best of both worlds. By the time I configure one they range from 20-30k and that is just insane. For that money you can get a full travel trailer with kitchen and shower.
Yeah the prices are crazy if you buy.
Did you have a guide to follow?
Check out Shawnee Hills youtube and website. He has the plans I based this off of.
@@slyexpeditions6579 thanks I'll check him out for sure! The only thing I gotta ask are the joints where the plywood meet mitered? I've never made these types of joints yet just curious on if they are and how challenging the were?
@@b_inspired9542 I only used biscuit joiners on the wings by the galley. Every other spot has a 3/4x3/4 wood going into every corner where plywood meets with glue and screws going into both directions. You'll see this in my other videos.
How much of the Epoxy resin did you use?
I believe 3 gallons
🤑👍
Did you use a pattern for this or make up your own Galley area? I really like how yours came out. I think I may try to copy this unless you have some measurements I could use? Great job on the build though!
Check out Shawnee hills I used a modified version of his plan.
@@slyexpeditions6579 is this a youtube channel?

I'd highly recommend dentent. break a tooth in the woods, days away....like a band aid for a tooth. I never leave home with out it now...one of those things I never thought of till it happened. From my ski patrol days, I keep pantyhose too...makes a great rope, splint, pairs well with sam splint, super strong and wont freeze, and functions same when wet.
Dentent never crossed my mind. Thats a great add.
Found you because I found his plans and looking for someone who did it. Also plan to pull mine with a 15, JKU 4 door. So thats a plus so far. FEw questions. 1) any concerns about towing with your jk as far as weight goes. I'm coming from a Diesel so never really worry about whats back there. 2) I would love to build a trailer like he did but I'm no welder, did plans work for a store brand type trailer or did you have to refigure things?
I found it much easier to pull then my fiberglass tub rooftop tent camper. My jeep is heavily modified I get around 11.5MPG. I noticed about 1mpg drop towing it. I welded my own trailer. I have a build series from start to "finish" on youtube.
Nice!
Did you spray the raptor liner directly on the plywood without a primer? I'm looking to start a canper build and want to go the raptor liner route but was unsure if I should spray it on bare wood or use a primer first? Also how well is the raptor liner holding up to far?
They plywood was fiberglassed and I primed it also. You should find details in my other videos.
That light in your garage needs Jesus.
Lol I had to go watch the video to see what you were talking about. That just from the previous owner who died in the house.
@@slyexpeditions6579 He was just cheering you on. Nice build btw. 💀👍
Thank you sir
I need those plans to make it please.
Check out a shawnee hills he's owns the rights
So no framing or insulation? Just plywood assembled together?
It's fiberglassed and 3/4 foam insulation
really good job! well done
