In this video I remove a damaged tank emblem and replace with a savaged one in good condition. I learn that the NOS set I bought is for a 70 tank and 68-69 tank badge are are not interchangeable w 70 badge

A '72 Combat with a single Mikuni is a fraction of what that Norton was when it had it's dual carbs. The Norton Combat had advantages over other Commandos with the higher 10/1 compression, the hotter cam, larger 32mm manifolds with larger 32mm dual carbs. It has lost those advantages. It's lost the acceleration, the torque and the grunt it was designed to have. Invest in some Amal Premiers and get that grunt back. It should be a Norton Combat once again.
This is a “de tuned” -post combat 72. You’re not alone, many hate seeing a single carb. I was more interested in reliability and ease. The bike as it is set up is incredibly reliable and fun. I tend to cruise so speed is 👍
Z1 is not best bike in world don't listen to someone that never own classic Motorcycle mecum is not knowledgeable on Motorcycle they sell it for you and bunch over Rated knowledgeable auction staff that has never owned Motorcycle the cb is best Motorcycle in world I know and i own 2 since 80s till Now my cb put any z1 or kz bikes away and ivdo factory restoration to show Room finish I can tell you KZ only made 1 bike that made any sense with help design of Honda if wasn't because of them there would not be kz harley or triumph so if you going with Honda motorcycle is for real riders not these people sell flip bikes thats business not true motorcycle lover

What was that glue/adhesive you used when applying the new emblem back on to the tank?
It’s a dab of silicone adhesive
This bike is killing me. I painted the tank of my 1961 600cc British marker Dominator SS with apparently some Dunstall goodies, Candy Apple Metalflake Apricot. In the FL sun it was stunning. And this looks like it’s spiritual grandson. Who am I kidding. I’m not going to settle for a Bonneville. Norton rules.

I am actively looking for something like that. It is pure beauty alongside real power. Trying to pull the trigger on a 64 Atlas but Commandos keep calling out my name.Stayed off bikes for over a quarter century because they terrified her. But she now understands that if I am going to get my old body back into the younger man I refuse to stop being, I need motivation. And sadly I may end up here after my younger wife is gone. But for our son I refuse to just hang around. I’ve already met three preliminary goals plus could pass an FAA medical. If I can ride I will ride. This summer. If you don’t want the Commando we should talk.
