Catastrophic damage in Rockport,TX. Key Allegro Bay Shore Dr after Hurricane Harvey
มุมมอง 20K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Damage done to the houses in beautiful Key Allegro. Seems like many homes are damaged structurally beyond repair and will have to be torn down and rebuilt. The town will be cleaning up for months and rebuilding the years. Driving into Rockport felt like we were in a movie, and the next time we go back everything should be back to the beautiful charming town that we all love. Rockport will be re...
Drove through Key Allegro a few months ago. You can hardly tell anything happened, it looked beautiful.
found it.... interesting...... how the rich at key allegro were afforded all the security of boots on the ground and monitored access via checkpoint.... while in many other "working class" areas there was zip... nada... no "presence" of security such as afforded to key allegro.
I'm just noting this because the title suggests it only shows Key Allegro. This is for my own reference because it's hard to recognize things due to hurricane damage. This video begins on Fulton Beach Road going north, then goes over the bridge into Key Allegro and shows the damage. Then they drive back over the bridge to Fulton Beach Road and go south towards Rockport. At 12:00 or so, the video suddenly switches from Fulton Beach Road to Hwy 35 (headed south a short distance past HEB, Walgreens, American Bank, McDonalds, etc., none of which are shown). They are soon passing the Poor Man's Bar and Grill and the service station and getting to the divided hwy. part of 35, approaching the marina and downtown area. They drive into the downtown area about one block (the red light at that intersection where I-35 splits to turn right or go downtown is totally missing), but they show none of the downtown damage and do not enter the marina area. They are soon back on Hwy 35 again, driving towards its intersection with Market Street. They turn right on Market Street (going towards the bypass) and soon pass the flipped and destroyed trailers and campers at the Camper Clinic. They take Market all the way to the Bypass. At the Bypass, they turn left and soon show how flooded the road was as well as damaged places and tilted electric poles. The video ends as they approach a less populated area en route to Aransas Pass and Corpus Christi.
You know it’s real bad when you see the palm trees knocked down!! Thanks for this video!! How sad!!!
This is so horrible & depressing to see, not only, because they're people homes and they've, literary, lost the roof over their heads but this area was SOOO BEAUTIFUL! It's just horrible that Harvey happened at all. And Irma happened to us. I'm also very sorry for everyones loss.

Prayers for all the people in Rockport tx. I was just thinking if residents rebuild their homes. They might think about building a concrete dome house on concrete pillar. These home are storm resistance. Just my thoughts
good luck to all these people, floridas up next it seems
Surfside... no!
CJ Wax is at it! ..the city of Rockport has a gofundme account set up. To rebuild Rockport, he says. Ooh! and to help the rockport city employees who were affected by the storm!! ( majority are white employees 90%) Screw everyone else because they did not lose anything right! The gofund me acct. is already at 250,000 plus. His goal is 500,000. To The city and CJ WAX this is why karma came and bit you in the ass! This sorry ass town is all about themselves. I'm glad the media stop reporting on Rockport devastation. this rascist town will be forgotten! It already has! Houston is the #1 Topic. CJ WAX You are forgetting about the other 9,000 residents they were affected by the storm. Without the people (residents) you are not a town. Without the working class that spend their money daily, you are not a town, Without the other 9,000 or so residents that were affected by the storm, Rockport would not be Rockport. Maybe you should have created a a gofund me that helps everyone. Without the lower class, and middle class. You jerk would not have job. Maybe you should think about that. Whites looking out for whites in Rockport as always.
Please go down Fulton Beach Road past the Yacht Club. Thanks
Nice Video Thanks!
Good coverage! My concern is what kind of damage when power gets fixed???
I found a company to tarp my Key Allegro roof yesterday. I guessing finding a contractor to rebuild will be difficult.
Thank you. Fulton Beach Road? Mary
Jesse, I appreciate the effort and work. Have you seen 49 Curlew ? It is a pink stucco on the right . 7132450373 Mitchell
Any info on the HEB lodge would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!
Is there any footage from 17 Catalina Drive in Key Allegro. So sorry to see all this devastation. Prayers from Tennessee!!
Thank you.
A sincere question: this wasn't a tornado, with its random destruction here, no destruction there kind of pattern. Why do some of the homes appear almost untouched, save a little yard and roof damage, and others are wiped down to the foundations?
Very accurate with random damage. The houses on this street are directly on the Bay, so they absorbed more wind. There were also some older houses which all appeared to take more damage. Homes with roof tiles and shingles were effected more than homes with metal roofs. Homes on stilts also appear to have caught more wind. We were there on Thursday boarding up windows, many homes did not prepare before the storm
So, same as in an earthquake prone region, building to stringent codes makes all the difference. And the older structures were probably built when codes weren't quite so stringent.
Actually, they are now saying there were tornadoes that swept through Rockport based on the type of damages they are seeing in certain areas.

Is photo 9133 of 10 Luau Lane, in Key Allegro? It used to be my grandparents house. All their grandchildren are desperate to know if it survived. Thank you, Sally
Sally CArlson yes that is 10 Luau. Happens to be right across the canal from our house. Still standing with minimal damage
Any info on 8 and 11 Malibu would be great! I think I saw a quick glimpse, but not sure. Thanks for posting this.
Do this ride again and show the houses, please.
