Those houses were more than likely 1930s built. We once owned a home in Witham that was that era same kind of fireplaces in every room. Solid well built. Hope these are not earmarked for demolition, renovsted would make someone a lovely home

If you go down the road ( main road ) from this turn left at the bottom , in the next village on the right is a similar building behind the same type fencing all boarded up . Might be worth a look . Thanks for this vid ! Can we have a van update please

Finally got out in the beast. Every roadside stop is a holiday dale. It’s mine and Siobhan’s dream to one day have a van like this. Freedom is everything in life today.

It looks so comfortable in the van. You did a fabulous job.

I used to drink in The Griffin pub from 1996 to about 2008 It used to be a really good pub. Everyone met there on a Friday afternoon for a good drink and a chat. It was always busy, especially Sunday for a roast dinner. We used to drive past on the way to work and pop in for a breakfast. Sue the landlady would always open up at 9am for us. Nice breakfast and a pint.!! We used to run riot in there.!! 6 scaffolders getting pissed up at 9 am in the morning and not leaving the pub till 9 pm. Great days. We used to photo copy £5 notes and give them to Chrissy the barmaid to pay for our beer..!! She didn’t realise and put them in the till. So funny. It’s a real shame it closed down. It could’ve been a great pub.

Just watched this great video. The X's are the ends of 'tie bars' which were used to hold buildings together when the walls were starting to fall outwards. The X's are basically the nuts on the end of long bolts.

Circa 1970s radiators. Older gas fires. Stainless steel taps, with holder for head of built in shower, probably 1970s too, or 80s.

Landlords, including housing associations, break basins & toilets to discourage squatters.

Moving is weird. Moving forward is always the way but leaving memories behind can sometimes be a little heart breaking. Good luck in your new home u two

You do not need to talk if you do not want to. Just make sure you pick out any interesting details & get them on camera. Or perhaps you could look around & plan what you are going to say first, before you switch on the camera. Maybe you could find out how old the place is for starters?
