มุมมอง 2968 ปีที่แล้ว
This first down wind piece from Diamond Head buoy was about as wild and wooly as it gets off Waikiki. We had four canoes out with me steering this one and Karel Tresnak, Heinere Itchner, and John Akana steering the others. We took off and rode bump after bump. James Donovan, Ryan "Woody" Woodward, Connor Grune, Kyle Chang? and Scott (from Australia) were in the boat. Ten minutes later we were b...

Koa Kai outrigger canoe race 4.27.13 Men's 40s Waikiki Beach Boys
One of the coolest ten minute pieces ever.
I believe you posted this on May 13 but I believe that we actually did this on Easter Sunday?
Holy smokes!!! 😮😮😮
Great steering!
Awesome surfing. Great angle!!
Thank you. GoPro on the head, just above the visor.
hell yeah boys
Aloha from @bondioutriggercanoeclub great post
Thank you. It was a fun race. The frame I used on the back of the canoe was built by a friend of mine in Honolulu.
Awesome stuff!!!
F U N ! ! !
Share the invaluable experience of building this prota type can you? I'm interested in the length of the width and height of the canoe? And how to attach the sail from below?))))

Great video thanks for sharing!
Muito bom
hay how u guys did the set up to hold the camra to over see the whole crew???
We built a frame and clamped it to the gunwales behind my seat. I am using a GoPro in this video.
please help me find this guy we go to waikiki on the 10th of december
Who are you trying to find? Which guy?
Damon Sweazy who is skippering this set of rides we saw on the vid. I have had the privilege of riding these waves in the outriggers as well as on my own surfboard many times. I will go to Dukes our first night in Waikiki and most likely find him. I hope.
charles kinsey Ok.
Twain Newhart So you are looking to find Damon Sweazy? I can give you his e-mail address if you would like it.
I am looking for the person that was yelling and having fun while he skippered the canoe riding the waves. I thought that he was a waikiki beach boy that sells wave rides on the canoe's on the beach in front of the Duke Statue. If Damon is not the beach boy then I am not looking for him. Sorry.
Yep. We were all flying that day. On top of that I did it in a Hurricane.
Nice video Twain. So 52 mins; 11 Secs was your time, right?
woow!
yeah but it is always good to get wet.
there it is brah! squeeze dat 10 minutes! eh, look us on da left! lol
I checked my phone and email and can't seem to find my invite......?
Paddle, Paddle, Paddle! So much fun!
So no one heard me say kahi?
Not getting around the buoy.
So what were you going to bite your tongue about after the bouy? And I never heard you yell kahi. We need to be sure to have the guys pass it up if I don't respond right away in the future.
The field of view is wide enough that we need to add a mount on the top, that you can attach a GPS watch to it that shows the MPH in real time. You would see it in the bottom right corner. That would be cool.
Actually, I think that was me in the #1 seat. (Eric)
Good stuff! And looks like good fun too!
So funny!
