During recent years I have made a number of short videos covering a range of topics including visits to the Bluebell Railway, sailing my yacht from the UK to Greece in 2013, wildlife, experiments with Timelapse photography and music. As we enter 2022 I intend to focus more on my passion for photography, nature, and, of course, our local Sussex based steam railway - The Bluebell Railway. I spent over 40 years selling IT solutions but since I retired in 2013 now have more time to spend on photography and videography
Our Botswana Safari in the Okavango Delta , the Chobe, Savuti and Moremi Game Reserves
This is video footage from a two week safari holiday in Botswana in October 2023 showing some of the wonderful wildlife experience we enjoyed. The trip started with several boat trips on the Okavango River before moving on to the Chobe, Savuti and Moremi Game Reserves where we camped out in the wild in unfenced camp sites. During the trip I took loads of still images but I have not included any in this video. If you would like to see the still images from these locations they can be found at www.briandandridge-photo.co.uk/AFRICA-including-the-Game-Drives/African-Holidays
I hope you enjoy the video, and thanks for watching.

On my bucket list for quite some time we finally drove all the way from Sussex to Gigrin Farm in Mid Wales to photograph Red Kites and the extremely rare Leucistic Red Kite. Despite very wet, grey weather we had a very enjoyable time and there were loads of photo opportunities. Our Royal Clipper Cruise - An Introduction
Superb film footage 👍Thank you very much for sharing . I was there as a 12 year old kid , in the paddock with my Dad George . He spotted Jackie Stewart and I still have his autograph . 👍🏴🇬🇧🏁
I was there aged 16. I have a photo of Jacky Ickx and Mario Andretti in the Capri as they drove around for a victory lap. I had jumped the fence to take the picture. Never be allowed to do that now. I got a great shot with only a Mamiya rangefinder and 42mm lens so you can imagine how close I was to the car as it drove by. 😂
Superb ! I was lucky enough to have been at these events ------------ but please tell me the cine cameras that you used , --------- has to be Bolex ?????
Over a ten year period I had 3 Std 8 cine cameras - all Paillard Bolex, really great cameras
I have subscribed for more of your great content! Elmley was the first place I volunteered with the RSPB from 1985, so this brought back lots of memories. I saw my first little egret there on June 15 1985, it caused quite a stir at the time!
Stunning camerawork!
It's a triumph and I bow low. I hope they can sort out the air pump.
So many lovely clips and photos! 🦅 Greetings from a Swedish youtuber! 🇸🇪
When I did my A& B cert in 1950 at Castle Bromwich airfield in the ATC, i recall the Sedburg, (which I wondered if this was the T21) but the one i flew in had no individual windshields it was goggles all the way on a barrege baloon winch to 850ft.it had airbrakes on the wing upper surface as I recall
Great video. I felt like I was there. The restoration looks beautifully executed, especially the lining work, which caught my eye during the closeup stills near the end. And . . Atlantics are very cool.
Many thanks for your kind comments. I would just like to clarify, this is not a "restoration", it is very much a "new build/replica" making use of just a very few original spare parts and original drawings. Glad you enjoyed the video. I am looking forward to seeing Beachy Head enter service on the 23rd August.
I love how Beachy head despite being a replica still feels 1930s like originals 😃
I was at this race aged 11. Are you sure that the open seat race (I think its formula Atlantic btw) is not from one of the Thursday/Friday practice days? I seem to remember South bank was full of cars for the actual BOAC 500m and the later 1972 BOAC 1000km race
Really impressive of what you have in your country 👍👍👍
Many thanks Roy. Yes, we have a number of great preserved railways here in the UK which, I am pleased to say, bring a great deal of pleasure to the visitors, many of whom come from all over the world. My wife and i are both volunteers at the Bluebell Railway and really enjoy meeting many of the visitors. Keep up the great work on your videos, I really enjoy them and the memories they bring back.
what is the usual list when sailing?
Minimal.
@@SwanSycorax In 76 I was responsible for keeping SS Canberra upright. she would flop one degree either side of vertical.
I thought they were 'CARRIAGES' not cars, they are those road things that almost supplanted trains on railways.
Carriages or Cars, You can call them Either.
It'll be great to see ya hauling passengers 32424.. and I hope to be one of those passengers in the not too distant future
Halls, black fives, bulleids are wonderful. But, this is something DIFFERENT and equally wonderful.
My first meeting at Brands Hatch aged 11. Great to see this at 64!
That's a really top drawer presentation you've done. I loved the multi- angle work of 32424 making up its train. Nice work! 👍
When the "Passengers are requested to cross the line by the bridge" popped up, I tried to move it off my screen!🤣 Thank you for this, I'm hungry for anything I can see on 32424......
Jeez the nerve of some people?! I for one loved the video and I hope to see more like it!😃😃
Many thanks for your comments
Having gained my "wings" on the T21 Sedbergh, the comment that every one of us trainee pilots all made was, "there's no philharmonic orchestra, nor any b****y music soundtrack. Just the noise of the wind". So, DELETE the b****y musak!!! The genuine sounds of an operational airfield are far more emotive; especially on a glider airfield. Otherwise, a sincere "thank you" for a wonderful video.
The Alfa 33s are my favourite :) Lucky you for having seen all this and having been able to wander amongst legendary cars in the Paddock. Such informality is unthinkable now.
Now you have both 180 to 600 and hundred to 400. What would you prefer someone who is starting out on nature and wildlife photograph
my 100-400 when I bought the 180-600. I loved the 100-400 and wish I could have justified keeping both. Before I sold one and bought the other i had two opportunities to try both lenses back to back and was surprised to find the 180-600 was just as sharp as the 100-400 and when I added the 1.4xTC to the 100-400 the image was not as sharp as the 180-600. As the prime requirement for either of these lenses was wildlife it was a no-brainer as reach is, in my opinion, everything.
Yes it was cold, we couldn't get temp in the tires.
Iconic. Do you know which base the Spitfires came from?
I believe it is based at Goodwood.
I think I was there one year when Graham Hill was racing a formula 2 car don't know if it was the following year or not , I lived not far from Brands Hatch thanks for posting it brings back memories, great footage, cheers
First win for the 917
THANKS FOR PUTING THIS FILM ON U TUBE. WE RACE THESE FLY MODEL RACE CARS.
Nice that you have a lot of old trains and.... Still driving too. Pretty long train and full of people. A nice, Brian 👍
I went on Camalot last year ,it was 👍
Loved this video especially your cat stalking the fox, brilliant 👍🏻
Thanks for posting. I was there, aged four, in the stand opposite the pits!
Some very nice clips, especially of the "Edwardians". Thank you for sharing via You Tube!
Fantastic video Brian, really enjoyed it 👍🏻
Thanks Dan, glad you liked it. They are just such beautiful birds.
Thank you very much, this helped me to know want I want, It will be this lens rather than the 400 mm f/4.5. I own 500 mm PF f/5.6 combined with Nikon Z9.
I am glad it was helpful. I still stand by what I put in that video, however, times move on and a few weeks ago I traded my Z 100-400 for the Z 180-600. This was a hard decision as the 100-400 has been my go to lens for many occasions including two safari holidays in Africa. But, here in the UK most of my wildlife photography is birds and the 100-400 doesn't have the reach that I found was needed on many occasions. I carried out back to back comparisons between the 100-400 with the 1.4xTC and the 180-600 and found the latter was actually sharper and allowed in more light than the other set-up - despite the 180-600 not being an S-Line lens. I already have the Z 800- PF but as that is a prime I could only use it when extreme range is needed so, as i really couldn't afford, justify or carry about two long-range zooms, with heavy heart I moved the 100-400 on and am very happy with the 180-600 - which also allows reasonably close range pseudo-macro photography - although not as good as the 100-400.
Thank you Brian. Very informative!
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Brian, I have to agree great footage you've put together there on Gigrin Farm Red Kites feeding centre. The stills of the Kites are just stunning . The young man in the tractor was my Grandson with me having the privilege of feeding these fantastic birds of prey. 👍
Many thanks for your comments David. And, thanks to all the team there at Gigrin Farm for all you do to put on a great show and for really re-establishing these stunningly beautiful birds. I really hope to pay another visit in due course.
Great footage Brian. I was there during Easter and can vouch for the speed of these birds. Nice to see the slow mo footage to see how magnificent these birds are. excellent photos and so pleased you also saw the white coloured red kite too. Da iawn
Many thanks for your kind comments.
Excellent video Brian. I really enjoyed watching that & educational too.
Many thanks for your kind comments Chris.
Great film! Pity Brands Hatch can't host F1, F2 and/or F3 no more!
I am going on this ship in June this year (2024) doing the same itinerary as you with Riviera Travel which I believe you were travelling with. I missed that year as I was on another cruise but finally managed it now. I’m travelling solo but am sure I’ll be ok. Will watch your other videos as well. Thanks for the insight 😊
You'll have a great time. Enjoy.
@@SwanSycorax Thanks I’m sure I will. Can you remember how long you had in Taormina? I have been before so might skip the walking tour if free time isn’t too long.
@@elainecox7058 As far as i can recall it was a few hours in the afternoon. We dropped anchor in the late morning, had lunch on board and were then taken ashore via tenders. Here we met with our guides who took us on a walking tour of the town and then we had free time to explore before we needed to bet the tenders back to the ship for an early evening departure.

Thank you so much. Pulborough Brooks is a regular haunt along with the Warnham Nature Reserve, Arundel Wetlands and Pagham Harbour. Between them there is much variety and great photo opportunities. I think we are really blessed in Sussex with all the different locations on our doorsteps.
I waas at Millers Wood near Crawley on Friday and am just putting a short video together to illustrate what i saw and photographed.
The mechanic that cost Jack Brabham the win by setting the wrong fuel flow on his engine before the race was a young Ron Dennis. At the end of the race the story is that as the Lotus mechanics were pushing the car into post race scrutineering, they were leaning heavily on the rear wing as it was set too high for legality. Thanks for the upload.
Many thanks for the additional info.
It was freezing that day wasn't it? You've captured the atmosphere, and the cold, beautifully. Those poor old hares!
