Guy Garvey is a 'proper' poet! I listen to this and it sums up my return to my little Northern town; I made great my escape....but coming back is ...coming home.... and I do feel like I designed the buildings, so etched on my memory are they. Cheers Guy!

Guy has a great voice, that's a fact, but is there any other song where he hits the notes as powerful and perfect as this? Amazing.

Never quite understood why he puts on a guitar that he doesn't play, and then takes it off before the noisy bit when it would have been useful. Lovely song though.

Probably elbows Peak. Obviously they’ve had bigger commercial success, but nothing beats the pure genius of the first two albums. When I play asleep in the back people can’t believe it’s “boring” elbow. A truly fine band on their day, the recent LP was a return to a more creative elbow.

At least they’ve stayed together longer than sugar babes line up haha

I’m always surprised but at the end of this song, the smile on Richard‘s face as he finishes his drumming and the raised eyebrows from Craig… they knew this was an extraordinary moment. Sometimes I wonder whether the reason they don’t sing this song much is because they know they may never match this intensity?

with so much shit going in the world every day, this is one song I believe is there for us to rejoice over the fact we are alive and able to enjoy such beauty - love it, been listening to this for many years and will keep listening to it, as long as I can.
