Hailz from Montreal Sean, great picks, and totally agree for Eternal, killer album. Macabre is a great band, they formed in 1985 and they are still together after all these years. Not a big discography for a 40 year old band (6 albums only ). But man, Sinister Slaughter, Murder Metal, Dahmer and Carnival Of Killers are really good albums. 🤘

Have you ever heard the Cephalectomy album "eclipsing the dawn" from 2004? I've never heard anyone mention Cephalectomy even on Bangertv and they and the band are Canadians. (I hardly ever look at Bangertv nowadays as Riley is the only one worth watching)
@ChurchOfKylieJenner absolutely! I know Corey and the guys from Cephalectomy. Good people. Eclipsing the Dawn is awesome. I'm also a huge fan of their split with Bound in Human Flesh.
Interesting to see your development over the 90ies as you say that your choices were mostly due to sentimental reasons… I feel that for the beginning of the 90ies you chose and mentioned „rather mainstream“ death metal records while at the end of the 90ies you were already deep into brutal death metal. Nice list!

Dark Descent are classic, so is New Standard Elite for more brutal stuff. Headsplit is good. There are tons more. I should do a video about labels.
my number one this year is 100% theurgy, this is a great list but for me defeated sanity just sounds like defeated sanity, which is obviousely high quality, but nothing different. theurgy however puts a really technical spin we havent heard out of the new standard elite record label, and is very progressive imo, for sure an amazing listen!
Yeah man, Theurgy really is so very different, especially compared to most NSE bands.
I think Defeated Sanity, Into The Ashes and Iniquitous Savagery are included in the top 5 for me. Its crazy that half of your list are bands ive never heard off. Gives me a reason to check them out.

Absolute Elsewhere seems to be a love it or hate it proposition. I have 45 albums on my best death metal albums list this year that I will try to narrow down to a top 25, and Blood Incantation is not among them, nor is Nile, nor is Fulci. There's just so much better stuff to be found out there, it's hard to keep up with it all.
Blood Incantation's new one was interesting and pretty good, but it hasn't kept my interest like a lot of other albums.
@@gruesomesean138 Yours was a pretty good hard hitting list though for a younger dude. One of the better ones I've seen on YT anyway. Wasn't cluttered with a lot of prog nonsense or death/doom so slow you feel like your heart's just gonna stop beating. We just have to get you up over 1,000 subs. Guess I should probably watch part 1 now.
Necrot is a beast of an album! My top album this year was Aborted's Vault of Horrors! What an absolute killer release. The cover alone floored me!
Necrot was tremendous. I wasn't a fan of the new Aborted. I enjoy most of their catalog, but the new one had too much deathcore in the sound for me. It just isn't my thing. That album cover is fucking amazing though.
