Rappelling Bridalveil Falls: Cascading Routes In Utah
-Koda Exploring-
Koda exploring is a idea that we have been kicking around for a few years. Finally we are putting it to action with emphasis on creating entertaining yet comprehensive videos to share our passion for the outdoors with others. We plan to include how to videos, product reviews, and trip beta. We hope you enjoy our video as much as we enjoy making them !!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Trip Summary-
Located a short drive up Provo canyon is the notorious Bridalveil Falls. Frequented by travelers and locals Bridalveil has always been one of my favorite places growing up. For this particular outing we opted for the technical route involving route finding, climbing, and rappelling down a freezing cold waterfall. All in a days fun with awesome friends.

Exploring Utah Lake and West Mountain in Utah !!!
Just watched a video of a woman getting stuck at the bottom of a canyon and had to check what the heck she was even doing. Yeah, guys, I'm not going to be doing this :D
What was the flow rate?
Hold on what about the last guy on the chimney downclimb? How’s it go for him?
That top part always callled to me. Ive done indoor stuff at max 100 ft and then one outdoor at 150 ft. I want to go with a group. Terrified of hieghts but just something about that vally up top
Nice vid! Why the racist hat tho? 😄
You two are so cute!!!
Can you do this with a 60m rope?
Great hike and video! My favorite is lake Martha...but my all time favorite is Lake Blanche which isn't too far away..at the s curve on BCC road. So many awesome hikes within the wasatch
Hoping to do this in May 2022! Looks great!
FYI, that is not Bridal Veil Falls. That climb is called Stariway to Heaven. Bridal Veil is around the corner, where the actual waterfall is.
🤩🤩👍
I'm looking for a waterfall to cascading, that's so cool, could you tell me how did you get to the top, ?
was looking for a video like this. I came from the narrows into the bottom of orderville and stopped when i reached this big rock in the way
We just went from bottom up today and got past 3 really tough waterfalls. Can't find a video of anyone else doing it upstream
What’s the point you give no beta
Did the wet rope slide through the rappel device faster than normal? And are their chains at the top of the second rappel how long was the rope you used?
What length of ropes do you need for this. I've done the lower half but never the upper
Great Video! I'm a local here in Provo as well!
Where can I find the beta for this?
Too bad about the grafitti. This is what happens when mexicans arrive. Beautiful hike though.
Racist
@@gabrielmiranda6751 It's the truth burrito eater. Go back to Mexico....you aren't welcome here.
That mixed route looked fun.
Strong waterfalls. Stunning views Hope lets get connected. Merry christmas. Greetings from phillipines
That was crazy. One that I would love to do for sure!
Awesome! I have to go do this!
It's a good one my friend. You should definitely go and hit it up !!!
Nice work! I’m getting old or something because while I appreciate your skill and abilities, I believe this area should be permitted use only as a few people slip to their deaths on the approach every year. There’s also extreme falling rock hazards with how many people line up just below the falls on busy days. But again, awesome vid and way to get after it!
The approach route i took didn't have much of a rock fall hazard. However while belaying we made sure people were extra cautious not to knock of any rocks for the reason of people below. The approach is sketchy if you don't have a hand line. It got replaced earlier this year so it was pretty solid
@@kodaexploring5176 good to know! Again, awesome work!
I just found and subbed. I look forward to supporting your channel.
Hey thanks man. This was a super fun canyon !!!
Fun little canyon. We didn't have to use a Sandtrap when we went 2 years ago. There was one location where we used a meat anchor (me) and then the taller member of the team assisted the rest of them down. We were there in the summertime so we definitely got an early start since a lot of this canyon is open to sun. Great video.
The main fork we could have gotten away without the sandtrap but if you add the additional pothole fork you for sure need a sandtrap. Super fun canyon !!!
@@kodaexploring5176 Oh yeah! I forgot about that additional fork section with the potholes. I'll make sure to go through that next time.
@@rangeandravine take me with :) Such a cool canyon.
Just incredible adventure. Even more incredible capturing it on video. Keep me’ coming. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey thank you. This was a super fun canyon im sure to repeat
Bamfs right there.
You would have loved this canyon man. You need to come !!!
Dang😳! Looks like a heck of an adventure 👍🏼
Thank you. Woody is a good one for sure. I definitely want to get more experience with sandtrap anchors
This deserves a million views and likes. MIND BLOWING.
Beautiful hike! Thanks for sharing.
I was there a few days ago, had no idea. thanks for sharing. now i need to get some climbing gear :)
It is a fun little canyon. Aka horse🐓 canyon.
Figured I would keep the name family friendly for the video lol.
No helmets, or gloves?! Seriously DANGEROUS!!! Especially in that canyon.
Gloves don't add to safety and are never necessary unless for cold. I had a helmet always wear mine. This is the only time I've been with this group.
>>>>>>>>>great keep it up
Thanks I appreciate it
What an amazing gem, I've never heard of this place. Is it up Provo Canyon?
Its located up Spanish Fork canyon.
Looks like fun
Definitely a canyon worth the time & effort. I've now done this canyon 3 times :)
Stumbled across your channel planning our summer hiking trips 😁, Timpanogas Falls looks great! I wanna hike Mount Timpanogas some year soon. Great shots of the trail! Absolutely love Utah! Hopefully we can still get there this summer 🤞🏼. Great video and channel👍🏼! I’m on board👊🏻
I've lived in Utah all of my life so if you ever need some pointers on hikes to do in a certain area let me know. I spend most of my time in southern/eastern Utah playing around in the desert but I've done a fair amount around Utah county and in the Uintahs as well. Thanks man for the kind comment.
@@kodaexploring5176 I'll be in touch sooner or later 👍🏻😁
Yea I'll wait till there is less water.
Its a lit more fun in early spring. In summer you can do it without a wetsuit
Awesome! So excited to do more!!
Thanks man. I'll have to focus on little bit more next time on my camera shots
We got to go see this place 😍
This is absolutely crazy! I would be so afraid of all the water on my.. Epic video!
I love hikes that lead to water or waterfalls, but then again I love hikes that lead to anywhere lol. Great video
Hey thanks I appreciate the comment. Waterfalls hikes are hands down some of my favorite. Hiking to a body of water adds to the destination for sure
I love hiking in Utah..I think one of my favorites was to the Corona arch. Have you ever been there? It is crazy that you hike so high you got into the snow. Great video! I just found your channel. Looking forward to sharing your adventures
Great video, I'm ready to try this hike!
Thanks Kenna :)
Sweet shirt! I have two just like it!
So dope. Im jealous!
What are your favorite hikes in Utah? I would love to check them out & maybe even make a follow up video!
When did you do this?
Hey sorry for the lack of a reply. This was done in Early spring of 2019. This canyon dries up in late spring/early summer so in order to catch it with high flow you have to catch it at just the right time!
Great Video! I like your style of editing. It can snow in the Uintas in any month of the year. You guys hike the whole loop on day 1, that's a lot of climbing! Keep adventuring Koda and God Bless you!
Hey Hunky MrB sorry for my late reply. I took a long break from doing TH-cam videos and am just starting up again. It was a long hike doing the full loop in 1 day however the next day was not so bad when we hiked out. Such a amazing trip & I'm really hoping to get some more Uintah time this year!
Took the scouts on a great two night backpacking trip this last summer. Started at Trial Lake, hiked to Meadow Lake and then came out at Bald Mountain. We slept one night at Meadow (had it to ourselves) and then our second night at Notch Lake (Beautiful). Probably saw more people than you guys here, but it was amazing. There were so many beautiful lakes and good views. I would recommend it. It does take two cars to do it this way, but the points aren't super far apart. www.alltrails.com/explore/map/trial-lake-to-seymour-meadow-lake-to-bald-mountain. The trail is a bit longer than it shows on AllTrails. We had some discrepancy between our two GPS's, but it was somewhere between 12-14 miles. Naturalist Basin is on my list, trying to decide if I go for it this summer.
Sounds like a amazing trip to do! I've hiked around the Trial lake area a number of times. If you have not done Naturalists I would say its a definite must do. It was a lot busier than my liking but it made for a great 1 nighter. I was talking with my wife about going out & doing Grand daddy basin again this year.
